Yesterday the Boston Red Sox beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 5-0. It was also a night in which it was the oldest combined age of both starters in Fenway Park history. For the Red Sox Tim Wakefield and for the D-back Randy Johnson. Tim Wakefield pitched a brilliant 7 innings allowing 2 hits and a walk. Wakefield also struck out 6. Yesterday, at Fenway Park, it was the first ever Jerry Remy day celebrating 20 years in the booth with the Boston Red Sox. Jerry also played 7 years with the Red Sox. Well the Red Sox started the game great with a first inning solo shot by Dustin Pedroia. Yesterday the Boston Red Sox beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 7-4. It all started in the first inning when JD Drew hit a 3 run homer. This was followed by a Mike Lowell solo homerun. In the third inning, Brandon Moss hit a 2 run pinch hit single for Coco Crisp to make the score 6-1. Justin Masterson had another stellar performance yesterday and against one of the best offenses in the league. Jonathon Papelbon got the save.
