If you haven't already heard, The BC Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced a trade today. The Lions sent RB Joe Smith to the Blue Bombers for RB Charles Roberts.Roberts is the Bombers' all-time leading rusher, but is in the midst of his worst season to date. He has 462 yards on 93 carries and the Bombers are 2-7. Smith hasn't been any better, he has 236 rushing yards on 55 carries and had been benched in favor of rookie Stefan Logan. Last season, these were the two best RBs in the CFL. Smith lead the way with 1510 yards and 18 TDs while Roberts had 1379 yards and 16 TDs.Smith…

Here is the second edition of my CFL Power Rankings blog. 1. Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-2) (West Division)The Roughriders have lost 2 straight games, but still have the best record in the CFL. The reason they top the list right now is the acquisition of QB Michael Bishop from the Toronto Argonauts. Saskatchewan has been banged-up at QB this season and lacks a franchise QB. They hope Bishop can be their guy. I think Bishop could be very successful behind the Rider's o-line. With his cannon arm and quick feet, it could be a tough Labor Day Classic for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. 2.…
