Here's the moment you've all been waiting for, so let's get down to the business of discussing this book. Winterdance is the true story of author Gary Paulsen's journey into the world of dog-sled racing. From his humble abode in Minnesota, where Paulsen first took to sledding for the purposes of trapping and hunting, to the icy vistas of Seward's Folly, the book is an engaging tale of the author's time as a musher. But then you all probably knew that already. Hey now everyone... so it has been a few weeks since I revealed the first book for the FanNation Fan Club. Most of you surely remember the tome; I've personally heard from several of you who were able to acquire the book and have really enjoyed the reading. My question now to you all is this: Are we ready for some discussion? I next have off work next Sunday. I would be thoroughly interested in opening up the floodgates to everyone's thoughts on the book sometime then. I am thinking 8:00 AM Pacific (11:00 AM Eastern), two hours before the first kickoffs of this week's NFL…

So I've come to the decision of what we should first read. Everyone is clamoring for that first book, and I have something a little off the beaten path that I unearthed again recently from long-buried boxes of books. It satisfies several requirements for me as we launch into this new concept group... The book should have literary merit. I wanted something not merely by a sports figure, but by an established author... andI wanted something at least somewhat representing sports. So in that spirit, you have two weeks to find, acquire and read the following…

Based on what I saw from Bigalke in a RECENT TD, I think you might need to open a Comics section in this libraray. Actually Zach...those comics are quite interesting in there history and such. Man I knew I should have grabbed all the movie rights when I was a kid. "Snap"
