It couldn't happen. This team went toe to toe with one of the national finalists; it had been the number one team in the land mere weeks ago. And no matter how much the pundits wanted to talk up the Mountain West Conference this season, they simply did not want to give Utah a chance against Nick Saban and his Alabama Crimson Tide. With the glut of bowl games on the college football landscape, it's hard to believe that only a dozen years ago a team could win ten games and still be shut out of the postseason. Welcome to the group! I know that there have to be a few more like me. I am proud to call myself a fan of the Mountain West Conference, and I'm proud to attend Colorado State University. Whether you attend a MWC school, your parents attended one, or you are just a fan of college sports and the Mountain West Conference in general, everyone is welcome.I plan to do a weekly MWC football update during the football season, and I will post an occasional basketball blog. Yeah, that's an interesting hire. I hope he does well. Rocky Long was great for the conference, but NM wasn't going anywhere.
