If you're like me you love what you see from Ryan Theriot every time he has a chance to play. From his patience as a batter, to his speed on the bases to his defensive ability at second. I ask you, why isn't he playing every day? Yes, the Cubs have other players who are supposed to be able to do all the things he does, but they have not yet performed with the consistency that Theriot has. So I say to Lou and the rest of the Cubs organization - Start TheRiot! If you feel the same way show your support at the games by wearing shirts with this message on them and hopefully the movement will spread. Ryan started out hot, like a young Sandberg...but lately his bat is more like Paul Popovich ...his sinking .266 avg needs a boost. I like that Lou gave him alot of early opportunities...a pleasant surprise, and still may pan out to be the reg 2nd baseman.
And I, like you, my brother, bleed Cubbie blue.Lifelong Cub fan who stands by his team, period.
Ryan Theriot has a much bigger heart and determination than any of the Cubs' other middle infielders, not to mention an uncanny athleticism at the right times. For these reasons alone, he should start at second or short every day.
