I just want to tell those of you who have the energy and persistance to deal with the issue of the virtual waiting room of not my experience, but my poor mothers, for a pretty sad subject piece if you were to write a letter of dismay to management. It is 4:00 on the 26th, the day that the summer months tickets were released at 10 this morning, and I recieve a call from my mom in excitement to see my response that she got tickets for my birthday. What she didn't tell me that I later found out from a sibling was the process that she went through. I presume that everyone reading this post is or has waited a very long time watching the page refresh. But my mothers may be alittle different. My mom, not being very computer savvy, thought the fastest and easiest way to obtain tickets was on the teams website. She was ready to sign on at 10 oclock, but not aware of the actual sacrifices she would have to make to even get through the waiting room. Just picture a struggling 65 year old born in Cambridge mother of 3 trying to surprise her kids with tickets. Thinking she was doing great, making tons of ground, she waited 6 hours! and dropped 500 plus on 4 seats that she felt compelled to buy because had waited so long. I mean it would be obsurd to wait six hours and drop anything less than 500 right? I appreciate my moms efforts to the fullest, and I hope to make the most of the game, but seriously? This is what being a loyal Red Sox fan has boiled down to? I know days have changed, but hearing stories of my family going to games back when you could pick up and decide mere hours before the first pitch sounds like a dream come true, and I guess I have to own up and realize that those chances are lost and gone forever.
