Viewing Thread: Live or Auto Drafts?

Friday March 14, 01:03 PM
Which do you prefer--Live Drafts or Auto-autodrafts?
Some think you get better teams with Live Drafts. But Auto-drafts are lots more convenient and, frequently, you can end up with a good team; although you might have to trade some and Add/Drop.

Tomorrow I have Live Drafts scheduled for FB @ 6:45 PM and 7:30 PM. Hope I'm able to switch back & forth effectively. Might end up with some auto-picks.

Live drafts are better!

I prefer auto, especially if you have folks who live all over the country. This can tend to simplify things as well as several people overbudget their time.

This baseball season is my first for live drafts. Felt too intimidated before. Auto-drafts are more convenient in ways; and probably more fair when most people can't participate.
But I think you get better teams with a live draft. Not so many wasted roster spaces.
Probably depends on the site and the sport as well.

Live drafts rock. I used to like the multi-list auto drafts on Sandbox a long time ago, but now it seems like single list is the only auto is offered. If I am paying money to be in a league it will be a live draft.

Fantasy Baseball this year was the first time participating in live drafts for me. Heck, I just started playing Fantasy Sports at the beginning of the 2006 NFL season.
Drafting live was not the monster I feared--except, drafting can become an addiction in itself. That's why I have too many teams--again!
One of the best points is: you have more control over who gets on your roster with few, if any, wasted picks.

I prefer a live draft in football due to the fact there are no wasted picks plus you can choose you best points gainers like the QB's and RB's first. With baseball I prefer auto drafts simply because there are too many players to pick at each position and no one player brings in a consistant amount of points each game. Each player can go into a slump at any time.

I felt that way about baseball, especially since it's almost impossible to get a lousy baseball team since there are so many good players in the game. And also when all the managers are on auto-draft. Live drafts, however, can still help you get a better team with fewer wasted roster spaces. Unfortunately, most Live Drafts--especially public ones--not everyone participates. Can never understand why someone would sign up for a live draft then let the autodraft do their picking when it seems the owners participating live have an advantage.
