Just wondering what should be set in place in order to get the NHL on track agin.

I think a great start would be for the upper management of the league to figure out exactly who hockey fans were. Here's a hint Mr Bettman, they aren't in Kansas City.

Yeah sure they are -- jut like the Penguins were and just like the Hurricanes were - as well as any NHL team rumored to be moving ... in short - BS. It is just NHL teams using the rube KC politicians as a bargaining chip and as the Penguins found out --- it works like a charm.

Who are the real NHL fans? Well Ren - did you ever get to the Chicago Stadium when it was packed? How about the guys who'd pack the old Boston Gardens? The true NHL fan -is the die hard guys that can (or in Chicago's case) won't go to the games as they have been priced out of the market - by the cafe lifestyle crowd.

first get buttman out of the game. if somebody has never played the game before, they can't be commish! it's that simple.

second- cut back on the number of teams in the league. it is diluting the talent on the ice. my vote is cut 1 florida team, 1 CA team, PHX (even if Gretz is in charge there send them back to Canada),

third- concentrate on the product on the ice. stop making rules to increase scoring. enforce clutch and grab rules , but don't go overboard calling tic tac penalties. (hooking is a great example)

fourth- make every surface olympic size. that will ensure that skilled players will be on every team. it will do away with the todd bertuzzi's of the world and increase the likes of joe sakic's of the world.

five- make tickets affordable. i'm talking lower bowl tickets not the nose bleeds. let the corporate idiots sit up top, they don't watch the game anyway.

move hockey back to 'hockey' cities. i'd like to see teams in Medicine Hat and Moose Jaw
