The 4 of us that will be doing the blog coverage of the playoffs: Cardsox, Mac, Coletrain, and DJTG.
Just need to right now figure out who will do what DS.
This is what I have so far:
ALDS that doesn't include Yankees - Coletrain
Other ALDS - Me
NLDS #1 - Cardsox
NLDS #2 - Mac
I want to have it so that no one is covereing their favorite team.
Now we can plan out the format of how we will cover the series.
And who will cover the LCSs.
Should we do the series' game-by-game?
My idea:
We do an introduction to the series. I was thinking about a game by game thing, but then we might have the problem of people becoming busy or not feeling like doing them and putting not much effort. Then of course, we might not be able to see all of the games.
As far as the LCS's, I think we could either decide amongst ourselves or allow the Fan Club to voice their opinion on who they'd like to read more from.
We definitely have to have introductions. And we could probably have little game summaries too. And the people should vote.
I think the game by game summaries dont have to be BIG, just little ones like you said.
And yes, it would be good to have the group vote. Like, put the poll inside a message board topic so we can literally see how many voted and tally it up.
The poll would be between Coletrain and I for the ALCS and you and Cardsox for the NLCS.
So should we plan out a template for the game summaries or let everyone use their own style?
Good idea for the poll. Thats done.
As far as a template...maybe. Maybe make some minor requirements that still give the author freedom to throw in their own style. Like, NO HOMER CRAP. Make the blogs as professional as possible even though we're not professionals. Just at least give people a good idea of how the game went, some stats, and then a quick look ahead into the next game. (ESPN.com and SI.com do little summaries of games, so we can use that if we dont see the game)
lol That's why I have Cole covering the non-Yankess LDS.
I was sort of thinking like a format that would be like:
(Matchup)
Series Score:
Location:
Starting Lineups
Score
New Series Score
Summary
Notable Stats (Like the pitchers' lines and who had a good hitting performace)
Next Game:
That's sort of how mine would be laid out.
That is a good format right there DJ.
