I love Alabama Football but we desperately need a quarterback. Wilson has been overrated since his pass in the Arkansas game (excellent throw). Ever since then he has not done much of anything except throw pointless interceptions (Miss. State and others) and get sacked and in at least one case (LSU) fumble the ball that ended up giving LSU the winning touchdown. He either needs to settle down and become the quarterback he was at the beginning of the season or step down and let someone who isnt scared to take a hit and doesnt have tunnel vision take over. He let us down this year.

Wilson's a fine quarterback - but jst like Croyle at KC, he needs a front line that'll block for him. What Alabama needs is a coach - Shula would have had a better year than Satan did.

MM- Willson did make some (a bunch) of mistakes in 08. Here's the problem I saw through the year... We moved a center to RT (A. Caldwell) and didn't have a good enough guard on JPW's blind side. Made him real uncomfortable. Also, Coach Shula is a QB coach by trade. That, we didn't have last year, no matter how good Major Applewhite was. Now, a great QB coach, a head coach that know's college football, and, appearently, really knows how to recruit. Also, if you recall, the play calling wasn't the greatest. Applewhite wouldn't allow JPW to audible out of a bad situation. So, what was called, is what was run. If there was an audible called, it was pre called from the booth. It's not all JPWs fault. I went to the A-Day game, and he looked very poised. Not just because he knew he wouldn't get hit, but he was standing up, stepping into throws and all that. He did let us down, but, like I said, it wasn't all his fault. Do we have better, I guess well have to wait and see. But I don't see another Brody Croyle for a little while to come, leadership wise anyway. All in all, I don't see a 12-0 season with our schedule, but, rest assured, disipline and motivation will be at a high this year. That's something we haven't seen since 2005.

ROLL TIDE!

Jay Barker made a break through his senior year, lets give JP a chance.

JPW is going to have a great senior year cuz Applewhites system didn't fit the way John Parker played, and i think McElwain's fits him better. As long as he can stay more consistent, he'll do just fine. RTR.

hey rug.
dont you dare compare JPW to Croyle. JPW couldnt carry Croyle's jockstrap.
Also, Alabama has, in my opinion, THE best coach in the entire country.

I agree with RolllllllTide. We pay him the most money in the country and we're expecting results. JP is going to need some help though both from his o line and his new receivers. All he needs to do is get the ball to the right man and we'll be fine. It's a bit optimistic considering we're in the SEC. However, it'll be fun to watch and see if Star Jackson makes a sneak peak appearance and next year A.J McCarron.
