NFL  > Denver Broncos  > Denver Broncos will draft Sam Bradford with the #1 pick in the NFL Draft next year
July 15, 2009, 09:22 AM
Coach McDaniels and the Denver Broncos organization will suffer a dismal season and will have a worse record than the Lions. In fact, they will have the worst record in football next season and be rewarded with the # 1 pick in the draft. In a desperate attempt to bring in some quarterback talent that they threw away a few short months ago, they will draft Sam Bradford of Oklahoma and begin the long rebuilding process with a rookie quarterback.

Um... in order for the Broncos to get Bradford #1 overall, the Bears need to finish last. They traded there 1 rounder for Alphonso Smith CB.

But they also got a first round pick from the bears, they just traded a first round pick for Alphonso Smith, doesn't mean it needs to be theirs..So, they can trade away the Bears first round pick, and then mess up their season to get the first pick..

No...the Broncos traded their own first round pick to the Seahawks for the right to select Smith in the second round. It was specifically the Broncos first round spot that was traded, not the spot the Bears traded to the Broncos. So the problem is the Bears will have to have a catestrophic season in order for the Broncos to pick very high in 2010 draft. The best hope is for the Broncos trade Marshall for a first round pick in 2010, then the Broncos can package the Bears first round pick and whom ever they trade with first round pick and move up in the first round to select the QB they need. Teams in the top Ten draft spots would be willing to move down for two first rounds.

This is a stretch even for the Broncos because there are several teams that are eyeing Tebow, McCoy, and Bradford. No team is in a bargaining mood to help the broncos before they help themselves first-they simply pay the money and move to the next topic. The Broncos are simply in a catch 22- whatever they try won't be enough because they should've been using their draft to concentrate on defense-instead they have to back pedal and start from scratch. I feel for the fans but I have no sympathy for Bowlen/McDaniels because they brought this on themselves by trying a stupid and useless move.

could be a record draft class with the potiential of having 3 Heisman QBs. I personally like McCoy the best out of all of them. I could very well see the Broncos, Rams, and 49ers taking thoes guys.

We need to trade Marshall to the Browns/Lions/Rams for their first round draft pick... There's a whole tree of QB's coming ripe, next year!

September 7, 2009  04:53 AM ET

Cool, we'll take Orton under our wing again. We need a battle hardened back-up who know the playbook inside out ...

September 7, 2009  04:55 AM ET

And since the Bears win this year's super bowl, you've got the 32nd pick, so good luck with that.

Do you really believe those teams would be foolish enough to trade a first round pick for marshall.? I love his talent, but his recent antics killed most of his trade value. Keep him, cross your fingers for some maturity, and hopefully his talent carries orton this year. Irishbears, like cutler too, but the nfc is way too open ended to start making reservations for the super bowl. I'm really not happy with bowlen and mcdaniels for putting us in this position with that idiotic trade.

I'm not so sure that makes a quality QB. I mean, look at the past 10 years of Heisman winners..not exactly carving up the NFL. Only Carson Palmer has proved to be a quality starter.

The Broncos are one up on the lions so far this year. And they'll get win # 2 next week.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAH!!! The Bears suck. They lost the captain of there D, and they have an INT machine under center. Denver didn't mind the picks because we got used to that with John Elway but you kicked Grossman out of town for that. Quit living in the Ditka days.

September 23, 2009  07:28 PM ET

I think the Rams already have the #1 pick in the 2010 draft locked up.

Ouch, you must really miss Cutler. I guess I would too, if I lost the best thing since white bread..But I think Cutler is doing pretty well, leading a game winning drive against the Steelers..not to shabby. And yes, they did lose a captain, but they have two others on defense. Anyway Briggs is actually much..much better than Urlacher.

Well you have fun in Denver and enjoy the 6-10 season coming your way. I'll enjoy the Bears going north of .500, prolly no SB..but at least the Bears have a great team to build on. I mean, will there be a player not wanting out of Denver after the season?..

YA if Denver keeps winning how are you going to get that pick? I guess Mike Nolan learned his lesson that some people aren't meant to be Head Coaches, stick to what you do best Defense.
