I just wanted to be able to say I was the first to post on the new soccer board. If you are a soccer fan looking at this and aren't in SoccerNation then you should be. Here is the link:

I'll see you there.

Canada is probably the 5th or 6th best team in CONCACAF right now. Give him a few years and they'll improve, but most people overrate them at this point. I'd put US, Mexico, Costa Rica, T&T, and probably Honduras ahead of Canada at this point.

Speaking of qualifying, the U.S. has already qualified for the next round, thumped T&T pretty soundly on home turf and picked up six points on the road. Meanwhile, U.S. soccer fans are foaming at the mouth about how bad a coach Bradley is and calling for his head because we don't win every game by a 5-0 scoreline. So, are the expectations of U.S. soccer fans just totally out of touch with reality or what? Beating Guatemala 1-0 on the road for the first win in Guatemala in the history of the USMNT is pretty damn impressive considering the defending World Cup champs have struggled to beat Cyprus and Georgia so far in qualifying, England struggled against ANDORRA, and Brazil and Argentina are both ranked behind Paraguay and tied with Uruguay (who, granted, has played one more game).

I dont like the way Bradley is coaching the team, but hey, they are getting good enough results so i'm not going to complain.

I would not consider Mexico rebuilding. What exactly are they rebuilding? US is still second best in CONCACAF regardelss of how you play your cards. Mexico has the most talent they have had in a very long time and I don't see where they would be rebuilding. What they did was sack a unqualified coach and brought in a new one that can put forth the best Mexican squad on the pitch.

Beating a concacaf team is by no means a measuring stick to apply yourself to! The US national team has made it past the group stage only once or twice since '90 and were an absolute shame at WC '98 and '06. Why is it that the team insists on having American coaches? Get a Dutch, German or Brazilian coach for christ's sake, they obviously have more experience. Even when the US qualifies, it still isn't going to make a difference unless they make a proper showing at the quarterfinals at WC. I'm sorry, but being the best team from a conference of losers doesn't make you a good team. Combined concacaf titles= 0. And nobody start saying "we played well against spain, and argentina" those were friendlies and friendlies don't mean anything. Germany tied Belarus in a friendly before the EC and still ended up in the Final!

I think it is important to note that no country has ever won a World Cup with a foreigner as its head coach.

true, however foreign coaches have taken teams to semi-final spots, thats as far as the US team back in the day
