SoccerNation  > Group Message Board  > Maybe a Soccernation TD League?
July 17, 2009, 11:36 PM
I was thinking instead of these ocassional 4-man or 8-man tourneys that Keeper puts together so well. We have a fun TD League maybe consisting of 10 or 15 members depending who's interested. Something where each player would play other participants 2 TD's each season and whoever has the best record at the end of the season obviously wins. The 1st meeting between one of the players you get to pick the topic and the next time you play them the opposing player picks the topic(like a home-and-away series). In the season you cant pick the same arguments as the other TD's or your previous ones in the season. Plus Im pretty sure alot of people can come up with plenty of topics hell I can think of 20 goods ones off the top of my head right now.

I think it would be more consistant and it would create more of a buzz to see who will come out as Soccernation TD League Champion. If anyone has any interest or has ideas give some insight. Because I wouldnt mind facing off with Pootie, Keeper, Manchester, D-Wreck and the rest of the die-hard soccer enthusiast on a consistant basis I think there would be alot of great TD's.

Plus maybe we can make this bigger down the line because I can bring over some of the soccer heads from Foxsoccer.com and make this fun and competitive. Maybe start signing people up by the end of July that way we can spread the news. I have my labtop at work and its been really slow so I have the time to keep track of records, so let me know what ya'll think or give some ideas? Who would be the Manchester United or the Barcelona of the league??????????

That would honestly be awesome but you interested Sk8erBryan?

This would be great, but the problem is drumming up interest.

Some of the posters on the soccer T&Rs have never done a TD, and I think won't consider doing one, like Zizou, CUtigerssoccer, and Oter. Some have done them before, but have sworn them off, like J. Hova and D-Wreck (he says he hate TDs).

I just don't see how we can get 10-15 members unless you are able to bring some new ones on board.

Either way, I'm in. There always seems to be an inordinate amount of b-ball, american football, and baseball TD leagues going on. How 'bout a soccer one?

Exactly I think we can bring some interest and I brought over some people from Foxsoccer but some left because of the contigent of **** bags who like to disrupt the TD's. They said they basically stop coming on the website was because they would start up a TD and some **** would accept it and be like "soccer sucks". But Im pretty sure I can bring them back I get everything situated by August 1st but let me know if you guys have any ideas because I want to make the league flawless.

How long would the league last per season? From August 1 to when?

Depending on how many players are commited I would say 1 or 2 months maybe than take a break for a month than start up the season again. I was thinking of doing maybe 10 players at first and depending on how well it goes increase it 15 and so on. Hell I'll make a website covering the stats and topics. If your interested put a plus(+) sign next to your name: + ~Soocer_Hooligan~

I'll set it up, but I will not be participating. Need a few more, then I'll pick out a format.

I already have a website in play that tracks all of the players for the EPL, Serie A, Ligue1, Bundesliga and La Liga. There's also a competition going on right now with MLS players. Take a look at it: because it tracks everything from goals to clean sheets to 90 minutes played along with yellow or red cards accumulated.

As soon as Congress passes the online gambling legislation (supposedly in August sometime) it will also take action on the games as well. Here's the site: www.worldfootballbook.com - I own it so any design changes you want to make can be done easily, but I doubt you'll need any once you see the stats.

PS - I've got UEFA video feeds and most of the best podcasts on the planet in there. Currently negotiating with the same stats providers that UEFA uses to track player activity during games live as well as a link into UEFA premium content. Too early to announce anything there at the present time.

I could be interested in this.

Re: the people disrupting things... just ignore them. Or we could pick a designated person to always respond to them with counter-arguments. That might be fun, haha.

I think everyone should speak up cause Im tired of that bias BS from other sports fans on this site. I mean Im not the type to start somethin but if someone runs their damn mouth I won't be the one to shy away from not saying anything.
