NFL  > New England Patriots  > Tom Brady--Can he come back to form this year?
July 20, 2009, 09:24 AM
Tom Brady will not come back to his old form this season. This year will be considered a statistical disappointment for Tom Brady, and the Patriots will barely make it to the playoffs this year. Here are the reasons why:
1. Brady is coming of an incredible knee injury. His injury was to both the ACL and MCL. Many athletes require at least 12 months to a 18 months to make a full recovery. Although his knee supposedly made great recovery, working out on the practice field and being on the football field dodging opposing players gunning for a dead quarterback are not the same thing. Psychologically, how will this injury affect him? How much is he going to change his delivery or choose different receivers because of his unwillingness to play in the calm, confident style he has been known for?
2. Many offensive units talk about how their chemistry and timing help create wins. Before offseason workouts in July, Brady hadn't been on the field throwing to his receivers and working with his linemen since September. Additionally, he wore a red jersey. This was not a total game simulation.
