MLB  > General MLB  > Renouncing my Pittsburgh Pirates Fanship
July 29, 2009, 04:15 PM
Since 2000 the Pittsburgh Pirate Management has traded: Tony Womack, Jose Guillen, Jason Schmidt, Bronson Arroyo, Kenny Lofton, Jeff Supan, Brian Giles, Jason Bay, Jason Kendall, Rob Mackowiak, Craig Wilson, Jack Wilson, Xavier Nady, Adam LaRoche, Nate McClouth, Freddy Sanchez. This doesn???t include all those who left via free agency. This also doesn???t include the hundreds of free agents that could have been signed to compliment these core players. These guys were fan favorites.

Definition of a Pittsburgh Pirate fan: a person who roots for the MLB team Pirates and supports them by buying jerseys, t-shirts, stickers, tickets to the game, season tickets, parking, concessions like beer and hotdogs, stupid bobbleheads, fatheads, programs, yada yada yada???.

Definition of Pittsburgh Pirate Management: greedy, careless, heartless scoundrels who take money from fans and laugh all the way to the bank.

If I had a product for sale, took money for said product, and didn???t give the customer what they paid for, then what am I? A thief? I would think so.

I therefore publically renounce my Pittsburgh Pirates Fanship. This is a fanship that has been passed down in my family since the 1920???s. No more.

Anyone else? I???m taking suggestions on who deserves my fanship, my support, and my disposable income. I???m leaning towards the SF Giants only because I grew up near SF. I can be swayed though.
