MLB  > St. Louis Cardinals  > Ron Villone

Okay, those of you who know me have heard me complain about Villone before......but seriously, I have to ask the question: why does Tony continue to put him into close games? Tony is a great manager and a smart baseball man, and he's been managing for 25+ years for a reason, but does he have a blind spot to Villone, or is he so tied to the lefty-right matchups that he can't stop himself.

Villone has failed miserably in 6 of his last 7 appearances. Does Tony really have confidence anymore when handing him the ball? Any of the RHP in the pen, like Franklin, McClellan, Motte or Springer are much more likely to get out even left handed hitters than Villone is. I just don't get the idea of continuing to go to him game after game.

Thanks for listening to me vent.....
