I think you'll get your wish sooner than you think. Farve is going to break very easy at his age, you just know everyteam has a bounty on him, most players around the league are as sick of this guy as the rest of us.
Defences are going to pin their ears back and bull rush him, my guess he retires after week 3.
Then he and Madden can sail off into the sunset together like a couple of butt buddies.

as a jets fan, i know exactly where you are coming from. i honestly feel we would have been better with kellen clemens last year. with a great D and running game, jackson only needs to not lose the game. favre on the other hand refuses to manage a game and instead tries to force passes and throw bombs downfield that get picked off. im not very high on the vikes this season, and its mainly cause i know first hand how detrimental favre can be to a team.

He may not take the vikings to the promised land, but he will, however, sell tickets - jerseys - t-shirts - posters -and maybe even a new stadium proposal. That's doubtful though.
Great move for the Vikings marketing dept ... bad move for the fans. When Zygi finally gets around to firing that retarded coach of his and putting his washed-up, overrated, has-been QB out to pasture, he may seriously want to consider selling the franchise before it's worth drops any lower than $700 mil.

Lmao!......I have to agree.........Vikings management must have been having brain farts trying to get him. He was good in his time, for a wild man, but he's waaaaay past retirement. He'll be put out to pasture before the season's over. If not, then I don't look for another season after this one.

Expect 40 interceptions, if he does last the year, tho.

I seen somewhere, where someone suggested that he come to Dallas. Now, he couldn't ever beat Dallas in Dallas, so, if he did come to the Cowboys, would that mean we'd lose every home game?......LOL.......

Wonder if he's going to try a stint with the Lions next year?

hey bull_shirt!! i agree w/ you on this one. i'd be surprised if he makes the season... only thing is that we will have to hear all this "i'm retired, nope maybe i'm not" again next season. poor man. he just can't walk away w/ class like most. you think dallas looked good in first two preseason games? what's your take on these guys at this point?

It would piss me off too...I know Tavaris Jackson isn't very happy.

But, Favre going to the Lions next year would not surprise me at all........kind of like the guy at the dance making the rounds, dancing with all the ladies.

Eventually, he won't have a choice but to retire, and that dog won't be hunting anymore. Yeah, all the talk.......

I figured out why all of these subjects keep coming up and up and up and won't die. Like Vick , Favre, and what have you. A lot of old and dead posts are being resurrected by newbies. They are reading things, and see something they just HAVE to say something about, so they join, make their comment, and Viola!..a board that's been dead since January has now found new life.
Someone brought up Tim Lumber's old posts, and they try to raze this idiot. I've left three (3) messages to the newbies on the one board that Lumber is gone and will not be back, and won't respond.......they don't listen......they keep bringing his post back up all the time.

*shakes head*

I think Dallas looked good the 2nd possession of the first game, and then for the most part, the whole game against the Titans. We're going places, Hoss.......*grins*....unless, of course injuries haunt us again to key players.

August 27, 2009  12:38 PM ET

So yesterday members of the Vikings have leaked to the press that they have no confidence in Farve and their best chance of winning is with Jackson or Ros... They must have been watching Farve practice and realised this guy is older than dirt and at best a backup QB.

an so the trainwreck begins....thank god the packers moved on when he unretired himself in 08, very few think that was a bad decision now

Aaron Rogers or Brett Farve?

2010 Escalade (odometer 001800) or 1998 Mercury Cougar (odometer 145899)?

Rodgers sucks....

August 28, 2009  11:16 AM ET

since rodgers didn't unretire/misretire in 08 i though it would be obvious...farve is the cash for clunkers QB

August 29, 2009  04:32 AM ET

Travaris Jackson should not worry. Childress will always give him another chance. After all, this is his third year in the league screwing up. Why shouldn't he get another chance?
