I think expectations were high with all the "Defense depth" mentions and I think we are all a bit disappointed not to get more of a look at Hicks and Barden, but all in all, I think this team is as solid as they've been in past seasons.

I watched the Bears game the other night and am not as concerned as others are. I mean seriously 2 starting D-lineman out, 2 starting Lb's out and 2 starting secondary out. Cutler merely beat up our 2nd string. (not to say that he didn't look sharp) If i were a Bears fan, I'd be excited. And on offense 2 starting O-lineman out....of course Eli isn't going to have time to hit the WR's

What i did like in that game and the first preseason game is the chemistry i see developing between Eli and Manningham. I think by mid-season, you will see Manningham replace Hixon as the starter. Smith and Manningham will be the 1-2 look with Hixon brought in for the deep play. I think you will see a lot of dink and dunk 8-12 yard passes this season and a lot more screens than previous to Ward and Jacobs.

Injuries are a bit of a concern, but as long as they are not "8-10 week" or "season ending", I think the Giants will be on a roll by week 4 or 5. To be honest, that' the way you want it anyway. Let them have their inconsistencies and dings now, not mid season.

Bottom line is the Run game is great, the Defense will be great (once the starters get healthy) and the Pass game will find it's rythum by mid-season. I see nothing less than 11-5 and winning the division. Cowboys and Eagles tied at 10-6 and 8-8 for the Skins.
