NFL  > Philadelphia Eagles  > Vick its yo time baby
September 13, 2009, 05:24 PM
Anyone who think kolb or feely is better than Vick is just pathetic. Vick is a top qb in the league for qb's that win games that started 60 games. Vick only started 67 games. You can argue about his throwin stats all u want. Besides the fact Vick never,NEVER had half the talent that Matt ryan ,peyton manning, or tombrady has had. Nor has he ever had a good Oline that is good at pass protecting. Week 3 needs to come soon enough. I cant wait for Vick to shock the world again and Vick is also a proven winner. He beat Favre and the packers in Lambeau field in a playoff game for the first time in history an wins in the playoffs, unlike Romo who cant even win in december and has a dream team for an offense. Vick has also taken the Falcons one game shy of a superbowl. He is a proven winner! lets go Eagles!

I wish Michael Vick only the best. He has paid his dues. But so many people in this so-called "Christian" country don't know the basics of Christianity-forgiveness and love. They really don't want Vick to be successful because he is black.

You can keep the religious lean away from this subject. And this so-called "Christian" country does not have a Christian voice anymore.

Can some one please come up with something other then the race card. I am not racist, but I think Vick is a piece of ****. It is going to be fun when he gets his knees blown out this season and is rolling around on the ground like a little b**tch

He's a Titan fan and the only reason he says he's an Eagles fan is because of the black QB. He also believes that the Titans are a racist organization because Collins starts over Vince Young. People who play the race card are ignorant S.O.B.s

People have to stop putting race into everything! It's old.

Mongo think this is the worst thread ever started
Mongo thought this sports site not religion & race

A few things here...first off, that has to be one of the silliest things I've read here. ("people don't want Vick to succeed because he is black")
Vick is a Football player...what is our President???? Chinese???
Let's keep the Race and Religious rants reserved for sites that are for those topics.
Users here like to talk about football...(most of the time)
Those Race and Religion rants really are thread-killers.

As far as Vick playing QB...I think whoever observed his pre-season performances came away feeling he has a ways to go yet. He clearly did not look like the old Vick, and I don't think any coach in the league would feel confident starting him at QB. It will take a bit of time before he is comfortable again, and has stated that himself. Best case scenario for him is to play maybe 9-10 wildcat plays per game, while crafting his QB skills. He has been away from the game too long, and it isn't reasonable to have high expectations for him to perform at a high level operating a complex west coast offense.

Good one, thanks, that made stopping at this dumb thread worth while.

As my fellow posters have observed; what a ridiculous statement. I am not a supporter of Vick's return to the NFL, however as an avid sports fan of over 40 years I have/do support the following individuals:

Warren Moon
Randall Cunningham
Walter Payton
Marcus Allen
Joe Green
Jim Brown
Doug Williams
Art Monk
Magic Johnson
Kareem Abdul Jabbar
David Robinson
Patrick Ewing
Alonzo Mourning
Dwane Wade
Dwight Howard
Shaq
Ken Griffey Jr.
Frank Thomas
Ken Singleton
Frank Robinson
Arthur Ashe
Venus Williams
Serena Williams
And although not an athlete; our President Barack Obama

Of course this is an abbreviated list; there are many others, not all black, but my goal is to illustrate the stupidity of the posters statement. If my oppostion to Michael Vick playing in the NFL again was based solely on the color of his skin; how could I champion the individuals in the list above? As has been stated so very many times on various threads; this has NOTHING to do with race, and everything to do with the character (or lack thereof), of the person in question.

Did you try to explain to him that Collins gets the starts because he doesn't lose games all season long?

I will be very surprised if Vick proves successful starting for the eagles. He is NOT ready.

Oh really? What makes you say that Mr. Parrot? Is it because all the talking heads say so? They also say when he did play that he was not a true QB. Yet his winning percentage is pretty good. Better than Romo the ho mo. Vick had no recievers at all or a decent line. Now he has all the above plus DEFENSE. What Vick excelled at (running) is gonna be what he still does. If your team won the SB would you **** if your QB had 1000 yds rushing and 2800 yds passing? I think not. A good QB WINS. Ask Marino if he would trade one of his record breaking seasons for a SB win....think about it.

my question is the character of a man that will willing go and for profit let dogs fight and the ones that lost be killed by a man with his own hands. My heart aches for those dogs...if there is no human that can't see the the pain and suffering that those dogs did.. then where is this world coming to... yeah Micheal Irving got accused of rape. so did Kobe.. The intent to harm another is a huge factor.. the willingness to pit innocent dogs against each other and then kill them for not performing is from a sick mind and a money hungry ****.. and why Vick did that is beyond me... but he has proved to me that he could careless about an animal..Vick had it made as a QB... the Falcons loved him... so ask yourself why did he want to hurt dogs.. why???he was not a thug.. now he is a burn in hell thug to me..only a sick person in their own mind can hear a dog holler in pain and give more pain. until they die... I some times can't sleep at night wondering how awful the pain those dogs suffer.. and the ones that got rescued... Thank God for the people that had to rehabilitate those lost souls... The ones that he killed are in rainbow bridge and happy to be dead to get there ..the life they lead was ****...
a man proves himself by his actions... I hopeto God his kids are ok.. and he may have many by diff women.. a thug is a thug that thinks they invencible. In time he will suffer.. I hate to hate but i have never hated a human being in my life... I hate MICHAEL VICK!!!
