NFL  > Chicago Bears  > LETS ALL TAKE A BREATH
September 14, 2009, 01:08 PM
I know things look bad. I know the bears didnt live up to the hype, but lets be honest, there was a lot of hype.

I have said in the past that we are going to start the season 1-3 going into the bye week. The way thinks look now, thats almost a guarentee (if not optimistic).

The bears have a very easy middle schedule. They will be fine. The next two games are going to be very tough be the bears will grow from it.

Heres what I think will happen by week six.

1. The recievers will get on the same page with cutler.
2. The defense will settle in to what they are now (a banged up D w/out Urlacher).
3. The running game will open up.

The bears will be a 10-6 team.

Urlacher is done for the year, Not sure how you come back from that. If you can show me in the last 2 seasons when Urlacher was out with injury the Defense was solid.

I think Giving Derrick Brooks a phone call and giving him exactly what he asks for may save the season on Defense

Pisa may be out a few weeks as well, I am hearing the Bears are in touch with Brooks. Maybe move Briggs in to Urlachers middle linebacker spot, if they signed Brooks that would give them some depth with Briggs, Brooks, Williams, Roach and Hillenmeyer.

How do you say it?............My condolences? Surely not, but I watched the entire game. Lots of mistakes, but those can be mended. Urlacher being out can't help either. I think the Bears will rebound, if the players can get on the same page, and I'm sure they will.

It's one game fellas not the end of the world there is fifteen more.........LOL, regroup and get ready for the defending super bowl champs.

There were plenty of positives to build on, the d-line looked good Ogun and Mr. Anderson looked almost unstoppable, Manning looked good at safety as did rookie Afalava. Johnny Knox showed his speed and big play ability a diamond in the rough. Hester who has been talked about all season long caught all 4 balls thrown his way for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Lets not run around like chicken little screaming the sky falling...........LOL

To be fair, the D was playing fairly well with and without Urlacher on Sunday. Not to see he won't be missed, because you saw the packers instantly try to run the ball straight up the middle..to some success. Still, Brooks I doubt would be an answer, his age and lack of speed would hurt..not to mention he's weak side just like Briggs. I would hope the bears don't move a great player to a place where he can't be nearly as good..see hester..But Briggs by his own account is uncomfortable in the middle and I'd rather see Hillenmyer or Williams step up.

I do however see the bears going back to McClover, to give them a ST since Roach/Williams will now be playing snaps on defense.

I really hope Cutler can settle down, which I think will be helped if we commit to the running game..unlike against the packers.

I know that Bears will still be good this year but it really sucks that they had to lose their opener to the stupid Packers

September 14, 2009  02:48 PM ET

GSH..............KICK THE SXXXT OUT'A PITTSBURGH !!..........CALM DOWN CUTLER/ AND YOUR CENTER.......................TOO BAD ABOUT URLACHER............15 MORE TO GO !

September 14, 2009  03:02 PM ET

Pittsburg is already a 2 1/2 point favorite, I'll bet its 4 by friday.

If the Bears can collar Roethlisberger, and keep him corralled, they should be fine. For such a big man, tho, he's slippery as an eel.

September 14, 2009  03:45 PM ET

The steelers just get it done. I dont see them winning that game. If I bet on the bears Id put my money on the steelers covering that 2 1/2.

Now that means the Bears will probably win. I usually dont bet on the bears because its a damned if you do scenerio. I lose either way.

The Bears will sign linebacker Tim Shaw to a one-year contract provided he passes a physical, which he is expected to do, a league source told the Sun-Times.

Did the D line look good, or was that right side of Green Bays line just that bad?

And what the hell was Frank Omiyale doing out there? He beat out Beakman, really?

But you are dead on, there was some really good things I saw, and a lot of potential out there. The sky is not falling and we will be fine.

September 14, 2009  03:49 PM ET

Urlacher DONE? Done What ? he is nothing but a cheerleader for the Bears. He can not carry Ray's jock.. he is the biggest run up and say "good tackle dude" in the NFL
Unfortunatly the Bears will NOT be able to collar Worthlessberger the only defense that can do that is the Baltimore Ravens!!! The spread will jump tp 10 to 12 pts by gametime.

Looks like dallas clark might be a little banged up already too. He looked like crap anyway. I really want to see what Kellen Davis can do.

Desmond Clark? I agree I would like to see some Kellen Davis, plus D.A. was out of the line up for that game also.

who?

He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft and waived him on August 30, 2008. The he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 26, 2008, and appeared in three games for the Jaguars that season. He spent the 2009 preseason in Jacksonville's camp before being released on September 5, 2009.

People your dreaming!!!! Cutler will have all of the Bears players so pissed of in the next couple of weeks we'll be lucky to win 2 games. The man is a Piranah! No class what so ever! Since when does a QB yell at the defense. I have never seen that before. Wow IT should be WOW!!
