NFL  > Seattle Seahawks  > Most under-rated team of week 1?
September 15, 2009, 07:07 AM
So the Seahawks played an awesome game, even though it was against the rams. But it seems they get little of the spot light from the game. they were the only team to shut out another team all week and they actually showed promise of a well rounded offense working both the passing and running games. The defense obviously shined allowing 0 points. But still they seem to be left to their own by all the sports news. To shut out a team in the nfl is a tough task, and to do it on the first game with a new coach should speak alot. They seem to be victims of a weak division, with the only real threat being the cards who cant seem to get their act together so far, taking into count the preseason. Its no doubt they should take the division, but I see the Seahawks going deep in to the playoffs with some solid defense and a well rounded offense. possibly even the big game.

so true think hawks will go deep into playoff. seattle is underated by all sports sites so far as i can tell dumb sportswriters...

The Hawks played the Rams, you also forgot to add that your hawks had 3 turnovers and lost the turnover battle against the Rams. The hawks played at HOME, it is no feat to beat the unanimous worst team in the nfl at home. If anything the Hawks are overrated they are definitely not underrated. The niner's on the other hand played AWAY, against the opposing chance and consistently put pressure on their future hall of fame QB.

I thought I would at least see the "wildcat" play with Wallace on some weekend highlight reels. But, hardly even a mention of the game. The seahawks did play poorly in the first several possessions, but they eventually got on the right page. But, generally afternoon games get little to no coverage, since writers are quickly writing their opinions on the early games. How hard would it be for SI to hire a west coast writer to handle writing about afternoon and evening games.

Despite playing in a cupcake division, the Rams have taken the #2 NFL Draft selection the last two seasons. Meaning they have been a bottom two team for two straight seasons.

They lost a lot of key players over the off-season, including Orlando Pace, Torry Holt and Pisa Tinoisamoa. They are the only team in the NFL that is arguably worse than the Detroit Lions.

So the Seahawks stomped them out? That doesn't prove much. If anything, the Seahawks are the most over-rated team after Week 1.

Hey, hold the phone here. Overrated? I think you have to be given notice in the first place to be overrated. The media bias is so apparent against the Seahawks that it makes me absolutely sick.

And please note this... yeah, the Seahawks played JUST the Rams, but:
-The Saints gave up 27 points to JUST the Lions (rookie quarterback, exactly one good receiver)
-The Cowboys gave up 21 to JUST the Bucs (twice-healed Cadillac Williams is their starting RB for Christ's sake)
-The Vikings gave up 20 to JUST the Browns (who are, in my opinion, the worst team in football)
-The Ravens gave up 24 to JUST the Chiefs (backup QB, terrible WR corps, LJ is a dinosaur)
-The Chargers, everybody's Superbowl Darlings, VERY nearly lost to the Raiders (who need no explanation)

So yeah, that must have been some I-AA college team the Hawks played on Sunday. The Rams are an NFL team with professional athletes. They have Marc Bulger and Steven Jackson. Steve Spagnuolo, a defensive mastermind, is their head coach. The Hawks gave up three turnovers, yet the defense stiffened and disallowed them from taking advantage of the opportunities and gave the offense the chance to click.

How much would it kill you, the rest of America, to admit that the Seahawks played an impressive game of football on Sunday?

Pretentious words .... BWAAAA HAAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAA - I LOOOOVE IT!!! .... Uhhh which band wagon are YOU riding - this week anyway - whichever team is in 1st place would be MY guess.
I wouldn't be bashing ANYBODY with a name like "MANNY FRESH" either ... You must have Manny wood when you go to bed at night with a name like that.
I've been a Hawks fan since 1976, and I've seen and heard it all before. Your BS isn't even original. Just typical Seattle rhetoric. Big-Deal. I've grown accostomed to SI east coast bias writers and ESPN's east coast infatuation. So much, in fact, I cancled the subscription to SI my GF got me this summer. Why? Because I could give a sht less what happens to Tom Brady in Bawstin or Dirty Sanchez in New Jersey. Just makes me absolutely NO difference one way or another.
Like the man said - "How much would it kill you, to admit that the Seahawks played an impressive game of football on Sunday? "

take it easy hawks fans ur team aint **** until u play a competitive team allright now shut the ****.k up

September 17, 2009  11:06 PM ET

Seattle fans are starting to annoy me the same way DalASS fans do. Seattle is completely overrated. WOW!!!!!!!! You beat the rams, you deserve a freaking cookie! It's been mentioned already, rightfully so, you did have 3 turnovers and the only reason that wasn't a factor is because, IT IS THE RAMS!!!!!!!!!! Seattle showed a lot of room for improvement, they just got a good draw for the first week of the season. It will all be different this week, the 49ers will show who the favorite is for the division.

Just like LA's team right? Do me a favor - when LA gets another team, we'll talk - until then, practice what you preach and "shut the ****.k up"
My gawd ... I've never seen such a collection of such whiney little biches. But who cares about that? I am now even MORE thankful god made beer and Sundays !!
GO HAWKS !

September 18, 2009  12:58 PM ET

The real question is, what in the hell would it take for ANYBODY to be impressed with this win or give the Seahawks any credit at all? Would we have to double it up, 56-0?? Would we have to injure them down to their third QB? Would we have both Matt Hasselbeck AND Seneca Wallace post 158.3 QB ratings? Exactly. There's absolutely no way that people will give the Seahawks the credit they deserve for this early season stomping.

And Bawstin-Stranglah, is it true that Tom Brady's piece tastes like clam chowdah?? Because I'm absolutely certain that you know.

September 18, 2009  01:23 PM ET

aaaaaugh ''gay-pride253'', ...........i heard your ''sea-ducks'' are moving to alaska............your allready in no-mans land !!??................who's your next win......the lions !

September 18, 2009  07:24 PM ET

..............Did you spill your Zima on the period button or something? .................. I see the public school system in Bawstin worked out well for you, degenerate swine. Try learning to spell, well, anything............... I can't take you seriously man. And damn, save for a fluke fumble you and your beloved "Tawm" would have lost to the Bills. THE BILLS. So I guess just keep on rubbing out those knuckle children while wearing your Tawm Braydee jersey and watching four year old Superbowl highlights, whatever works for you bud.

September 18, 2009  07:30 PM ET

boston-strangler! I am highly offended! I thought we had something 'special' goin-on. But alas ... I guess not .... Oh Well !!! - I don't want it to end like this, but by the time you read this, I'll be servicing your sister. I'm sorry for doing it, but it fulfills my sadistic fantasies. I know this might comes as a bit of a brain aneurysm to you - especially because you're too buried in porn to notice - but I'm sorry ??? you no longer intrest me. I just need a change you know? I think you're a swell kid and all, but I don't think we're right for each other. First of all, we're not compatible. You're a German Scat Aficionado, and I'm not. You like boudoir role-playing, I don't. You eat with your feet, I eat with utensils. You enjoy defrauding the elderly, I don't. In fact, I "detest" one of these things. I'll leave it up to you to guess which one. Anyway, I think we should date other people. Because I 'seriously' want to be dead to you. Trust me, we can totally forget the other is even alive. I admit, we had some good times, or so I thought. But please, don't be bitter. That means "No More Botched Suicide Attempts." And look - I won't even make an issue out of the fact that you auctioned off our love child to Robert Kraft. So keep your ass covered up and take care of yourself and don't let your big head become a huge problem like it has in the past. Kids are just automatically going to think of you as a lollipop. Also - try not to choke on your own vomit this time when Brady goes down again.

Peace Out,

TubToy

P.S. Love you forever. Call me next millennium

September 18, 2009  08:02 PM ET

GAYPRIDE AND TUBTOY.......your sea-ducks are a joke !.....no superbowl rings!.....you choked on your one and only superbowl!.......never mind each other's load !....you represent your team well.!..........must be chick nite here on friday !!??

SORE..........SORE............SORE..........BUTTS...........BUTTS......... ..............BUTTS !!!!!

September 18, 2009  08:40 PM ET

Win for the boston strangler! The gay pride253 was pretty good. Especially since he thinks he's the grammar almighty himself.

"Try learning to spell, well, anything..............."

Did you mean;

Try learning to spell, well, anyWAY..............?
