NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Ron Turner has to go....
September 18, 2009, 03:44 PM
By any and all means neccesary Ron Turner has to go...just watched an indepth story on the Chicago offense, and they do not think think they are playing to their strengths...their is no reason for except a hot blitz read, that either Johnny Knox or Devin Hester should "EVER" run a crossing pattern, the are to small to fight a strong DB for the ball... the story also says that they must throw the ball farther downfield to be successful, this dink & dunk crap will not win with the talent the the Bears have...moving the ball with plays further up the fail will open up the field for Forte to get some yards...

Their is no reason to run a Kyle Orton managed offense with Jay Cutler...this team has to win now, they have no #1 draft choice for next season, so this is it, as far as personnel for a while...As bad is it is to lose Urlacher for the season, that was the one position that the Bears have depth at...Ron Turner's conservative game calling is pathetic...what is Lovie going to do next, call the plays on offense too...middle screen on third and goal...they are lucky that I am not the owner of the Bears, I would have pulled a Jerry Jones, and came down to the field, and fired Ron Turner on the spot...

One game does not make a season, but when you do not do the due dilegence personnel wise, you get what your paid for...does a QB still make a WR, if week one is a crystal ball, then the answer is no...

The Packers looked pathetic and still won...the one play on 3rd down where Vasher slipped took this defense from #1 to #5...just as I said Bob Babich was the main problem on defense with his calls...Ron Turner is the problem on offense...this defense completely shut down a great offense...the Bears deserve the opportunity to be able to compete, and that will not happen with Ron Turner as the Offensive Coordinator....FIRE HIM NOW...

One game..I'll give him a break. He did his best to bailout Cutler and try to give him easy completions. It didn't help that Cutler audibled out of runs.

Its also not that big of a deal to lack a #1 pick..the bears don't exactly pick stars in the first round.

It's not one game, it's every game. he is a cancer !! I agree with you 100% Deuce, except that if I was the owner he'd be gone a long time ago, along with Philips, Daryl Drake, Harry Hiestand and the **** extra, Jerry Angelo. We could fire all those guys today and it wouldn't hurt us a bit. Check out my boy Roy with excellent thoughts on the game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVYkThytAhE. He came out with something that stunned me, absolutely stunned me. There was NO rollout practice / preparation for Cutler and the receivers in training camp for when the play breaks down. "Ortman" at QB would have been sacked 6-8 times during that game. We all know Cutler is going to roll out to extend the play - THEY DID NOT PRACTICE FOR THIS. The receivers didn't know what to do when the play broke down because Turner has NO plays for it. That's also on Lovie for not demanding something be put in place. That's insane and there is no excuse for it.

Watch this clip from NFL.com, Zack Zaidman mentions the Bears Coaching staff placed a call to Shanahan about the Scrambling drills.

bgdeuce is a blowhard moron.

Relax you putz. It was only one game.

If you are really having this many troubles back-seat driving the team, invest in a God-damned Playstation and get Madden 10.

Idiot.

Deuce has the goods here. For all the Cutler bashers out there, I just have one question: name the team that makes the playoffs with their star running back averaging 2.2 yds/game? Answer NOBODY!!! Yet that's what Forte averaged in Game 1. My POINT is that any QB will suffer when the OL can't make simple blocks in their running game, let alone when the D knows the run is out. The simple truth is that the Bears OL sucked most of the game, hurting run and pass alike. Bears offensive coaches better cure the problems QUICK cause it doesn't get any easier this Sunday.

Hire Mike Shanahan.

as coach... sorry i've been drinking... Hire Mike Shanahan as coach.

Lovie Smith isn't getting the job done. He is a defensive minded coach but that defense hasn't been the same since Ron Rivera left. So get yourselves a Mike Shanahan-Jay Cutler reunion.

Okay, Ron Turner is NOT your problem. You NEED more than a qb to win something. The problem is that too many of YOU decided that all you needed was a qb, but you need more than that. You don't have an offense like the colts/patriots because they paid more money for their talent-you didn't! You won't get any BETTER until you pay for BETTER-if you want a Reggie Wayne type receiver than you need to PAY for it. Your offensive line needs to be re-done and that's why people always said that they wouldn't hire orlando Pace-he's past his prime and shouldn't be playing anymore. Stop blaming a person for the fact that your front office didn't commit the money to acquire better-YOU NEED MORE THAN A QB TO WIN SOMETHING. Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne, and Larry Fitzgerald are all paid according to their capability. YOU GOT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.

There are some striking things that leap out to me. Of the top three spending teams, only Seattle has had playoff success in this span, reaching a Super Bowl and dominating its (weak) division for a good stretch. There is a sheer disparity between clubs ??? Dallas??? Jerry Jones spending $115 million more than the Glazers in Tampa Bay, for instance ??? and in some cases, teams spent $10-$20 million more per season on average than a foe, often with no additional wins to show for it.

The Patriots, rulers of this decade of NFL football, are only the 10th highest-spending team over these five years. And owners who sometimes carry the frugal label, like Tom Benson in New Orleans and the Bidwills in Arizona, are nowhere near the bottom of the list. When you look at the money the Chargers have spent vs. other top teams, you have to tip your cap to GM A.J. Smith. Likewise, the front offices of Philadelphia, Baltimore and the New York Giants stand out, stringing together a good run without grossly overspending. The Bears have won some division titles without coming near the upper reaches of this list. The Jaguars??? small-market woes have been overcome for the most part as well, as they have been a competitive club without spending anywhere near to the extent of guys like Jones, Washington???s Daniel Snyder or Seattle???s Paul Allen.

There is no single way to operate a club, but when you glance at this list, it???s clear that money doesn???t always buy you wins. Let me know what you guys think, and if anything jumps out to you.

Of all people, shouldn't Dallas be worried about its money. 1 billion for a stadium that replicates sitting on the coach watching tv..except for the $100 dollar pizza...
