MLB  > General MLB  > Official Manager of the Dodgers

Yes, I am the Official Couch Manager of the Dodgers this season by self appointment.
I'm sure Torre has some regrets, as he should, for pulling out Proctor to have his left hander, Elbert, come in to face 1 batter. Well things didn't work out as planned. Proctor was in total command, retiring 5 batters on 3 punchouts and two grounders. Well Torre went to the pen and the game exploded in his face. Would you believe me if I said "I saw it comming"? On paper Elbert gets the loss, but in the real world, Torre owns this one. When a pitcher is hot, he's hot, leave it alone. Torre played the odds and not the player. Sometimes this "new school" of baseball really bugs. Playing the odds all the time can make you lose a feel for the game. OK, I'm not here just to bash Torre. And who really knows what will happen before it does. Torre has done a great job with the Dodgers this season. He's made countless moves that were absolute genious. It is my job to point out errors, hind-sight or not, that are made thurout the season. Billingsly started this game and most everyone thought it would be a shoe-in. Remember anything can happen. A month ago everyone had discounted the the Dodgers and said "fat chance". Now the Met and Cubby fans are worrying about the possibility of facing my Dodgers in the play-offs. And there's chatter about town again of a freeway series. But for now let's just get this embarrassment behind us and take one day at a time. Iam writing this really cause I need the typing practice. I would like to add one more thing, GO BLUE!
