NFL  > New York Jets  > No disrespect to the Jets, but......
September 21, 2009, 05:53 PM
Rex Ryan is an idiot. I don't care about Crabtree, I just want him gone and off my team. So with the so called "tampering" aside lets get to the way Ryan is handling the situation. First off, I enjoy a little bit of trash talk so it didn't bother me to see him run his fat cheeks before the Patriots game. But his response to the allegations against the Jets was, "I wish we played the 49ers this year".

Really?! I mean sure the Niners aren't exactly a powerhouse, but is he going to be cocky towards EVERY team. Confidence is one thing, but dumb arrogance is another. It's a shame this dork has a job, but hey, maybe he'll have a stroke (not a fatal one) and retire so the Jets can have a coach who respects the game and does not resort to highschool trash talking and empty responses to serious allegations.

Way to prove your team's innocence by using the "humor proves you didn't do it" method.

All the power to him. Like Belicheat is any better. Has Belicheat ever disclosed his injured players? He shows piss poor sportsmanship after games by dismissing his opponents, after he gets beat. His press conferences are 5 minutes of jibberish, and way to go trading your pro bowler to Oakland without even mentioning it to him.
To say Ryan doesn't respect the game? Are you kidding???
Ryan is a defensive guru, and his players will respect him for the product he is putting on the field. Who cares what everybody else thinks.

September 21, 2009  06:42 PM ET

Wasn't comparing him to anyone else, especially not Belichick. He hasn't been around long enough to be a guru in anything either.

So basically you are saying that the way he is handling this situation is respecting the game?

Ole Phillyfan did get all up in arms and changed the subject to a completely different topic, huh? Butt hurt people get sore quit.

September 22, 2009  01:53 PM ET

Jets fans don't want to touch this one huh?

September 22, 2009  02:22 PM ET

I do believe that rex is kind of a goon and goes about things the wrong way. but to say he isnt a defensive guru is a lil crazy. i also think his arguement that belicheck is a little cheap is pretty on point. i dont like how either of them run their teams but that isnt my choice... and for all this tampering nonsense... let it go... crabtree should sign anyways... bum

I never heard of what you are talking about, and if it were true...which I doubt, I wouldn't condone it. Did you witness it first hand?
And there is nothing to get over. I'm not hurt. Not every fan's life revolves around what happens on Sunday. I enjoy watching the game, and win or lose...doesn't change my life at all. I still have to get up the next day and go to work. I don't pout and get my period because the team I watch loses a game.

I did get off the topic a bit on that one...maybe because I can't stand the phony A-S-S bandwagon fans around here, and chuckled at the bar watching them cry when the Pat's lost to the Jets. I am surrounded by people who claim they are "die hard Pat's fans" when in fact the majority starting buying gear in 2001. I know...I live here, see it, it can't be denied. Used to go to Foxboro for free when idiots gave their tickets away. Since 2001, well now it's all different.
Lets see....what else....oh yeah Andy Reid does need to lose about 200lbs., he does actually sound like that...I'll give you that one...it made me laugh.
Before you throw stones though....Belicheck's kid got arrested for drugs, he's a junkie too.

What else....oh yeah..."owned"...not quite. Owned is what the Steelers got Sept. 21st 2008 by the Eagles. Ha,Ha. Yeah,Yeah,Yeah we know... "But we have 6"....We'll put it on your tombstone for ya.

Let's not hang Rex yet, he hasn't been found guilty of anything. It's all speculation right now.

September 22, 2009  07:01 PM ET

because nobody can beat us if your gunna cry about a wr then you suck we have the worst wr core in the leauge and sanchez is having no problem

September 22, 2009  07:39 PM ET

60.4 pct 2 TD's 1 INT 91.3 QB Rating in 2 games, one against the 3 time Superbowl champs w/ Moss and Tommy Boy. Before that, Houston...who just put up 34 vs. TENN.

Get this kid some weapons!!!

You got it all wrong buddy. I am not crying about a WR. I specifically stated that I don't care about the tampering allegation and that I wanted Crabtree to be gone. Like I said, no disrespect to the Jets. What I am talking about is that turkey neck cheek slapper you have for a coach. Whether the Jets are guilty or not, and in fact, even this situation aside. Why does he feel it necessary to run his mouth about playing other teams and expecting to beat them.

All he's doing is putting a target on his players. That's it. He acts like a 10 year old kid that thinks he's the greatest ever at anything because his daddy lets him win all the time and lets him believe that he's doing it all on his own.

who kind of person are you passing judgment to every person you HEAR about in the news you know nothing about crabtree nor rex so shut up ill pass judgement onto you your in ignorant peace of work who is better then everyone else and thinks there so smart. REX ryan didnt do **** but give an ALREADY good team a QB and confidence thats all they needed remember there in new york all them players want to be cocky and feel like they're the best so as of right now nobody has beat them and they want to "MILK" the winning streak and keep the confadance high he is a great coach "black white fat thin" is irrealavent and if your team is as good of a team YOU (because your somebody) YOU say they are then they should play a game after the regular season and we'll see who's better since thats months away BOTH players and BOTH coaches have the right to say whatever they want (remember 49ers players did rebuttle and say they would "WHAMP" the jets so im not as smart as you but i think singltary is teaching his players to mouth off as well he must be a child and horrible coach WRONG a coach well do anything he can to win and say whatever needed to be said to win and MOST nfl teams need confidence to win (mike and mike in the morning said confidence is everything with ANY team at ANY level, even a single man trying to score a date needs confidence)

"Who" kind of person are you assuming that I "pass judgement" on every person I "HEAR" about on the news?

I know all I need to know about Crabtree. He thinks he should get paid more money because he thinks he is better than the players drafted in front of him. He is greedy, arrogant and has no respect for the game, he just wants money.

And I know enough about turkey neck by how he presents himself during press conferences. He is cocky without having the experience to back it up, he does not answer questions directly, and when he is called out he uses ignorant threats of "My team will beat your team" on subjects that have nothing to do with who will beat who.

"so shut up ill pass judgement onto you your in agnorant peace of work who is better then everyone else and thinks there so smart."

^^^Wow^^^

As far as the team is concerned, I have not said anything about the team. Again, no disrespect to the jets.

Come back if you can stay on topic.

September 23, 2009  12:19 PM ET

So, you don't like Rex & his cockiness?

Reminds me of a Lincoln story - After he had made Grant commander of all western armies, his army staff objected, telling Lincoln that Grant was a liability and a drunkard.

To which Lincoln replied, asking "find out what Whiskey he drinks and send a case of it to my other Generals."

His staff didn't have a response to that. Lincoln added, "I can't spare the man, he Fights."

You can figure out the rest and should have a pretty good idea of what I think about your "sensitivities" about my Coach, or your high-fangled notion about what a "proper" coach should act like...

September 23, 2009  04:07 PM ET

Fist of all.....stick to college hoops since you're clearly clueless and overmatched here.

1.) Rex's comments about playing the 'Niners this year was followed up by his comment that it would mean the JETS had reached the S.B., but I suppose you're twisted logic would mean that having high expectations for your team and voicing them is a bad thing.

2.) Rex's ability to coach or be a "guru" on the defensive side of the ball shouldn't be questioned by anyone.......least of all a Duke fan. Does Duke even have a football team??? Have you paid attention to what the Baltimore D has done over the past decade? I'm pretty certain Rex had quite a hand in that.

3.) Rex isn't in a position to prove his front office supervisors innocence regarding the tampering claim. His job is to coach and win football games. Period.

4.) If he's such and arrogant, blowhard arse as you claim, then why has nearly EVERY ex-player and current player of his been singing his praises? Why would more than (1) Raven defect and follow him to the JETS? Clearly, he's well respected and well liked by players in the league.

5.) Is it a crime to try and turn and organiztion around that's spent the better part of the last (4) decades wallowing in mediocrity by bringing a brash and boisterous approach to the job? I mean, this is the darn NFL...........not college hoops. Especially all the rash-faced girls that go to Duke games! WOW....they're such crazies.

6.) To wish ill-will on someone who has done absolutely nothing to you by way of a stroke just speaks to your overall ignorance.

I would suggest you use better judgment and maybe a few facts to back up your opinions. Until then, Rex can run his mouth all he wants to..........I'm 100% sure he would kick your arse any day of the week.

That's what I'm feeling....Houston just put up 34 vs. Tenn. D and WR Andre Johnson had 180 and 2 TD's. Shaub threw 4 TD's and over 300 yards in that game. They were shut down by the Jets D.
Against the all mighty Tom Terrific and Moss....they shut them down too!
That speaks volumes about how this man can prepare his defensive unit. 2 weeks and have not allowed a single TD. He is a defensive minded coach, aggressive, and if he does have a bit of an attitude...so be it. The Players seem to be responding positively to it. As long as the wins keep coming...to the victor go the spoils!!!

Can't argue with that! Or the fact that this whole thing is a smoke screen by the 49ers to avoid admitting that they screwed this deal up royally.
For all you "so called" geniuses out there - the Niners can't trade his rights until next March and if they signed him and traded to the Jets, well they don't have the cap to pay him.
As for wishing a stroke on somebody, that's about as ignorant and immature a loser as one can get.
