The door for Vernon Gholston's opportunity to shine is fast closing. Calvin Pace has 2 games left before his suspension is up, and then it's back to being buried on the end of the bench for Vernon. LB's that have passed him so far apear to be Marquise Murrell and Jamal Westerman.

Is this guy doesn't produce the team will be stuck with a guy that counts for $18,680,000 in future cap money, for the next 3 seasons. I think they should play him as much as possible for the next 2 games, and try to get his trade value up. When Calvin Pace comes back from suspension, the team needs to trade this guy away for some production type trade. IE; 4th round pick for 30 tackles, 2nd round for 50 tackles and 7 sacks.

It is clear that he is a 4-3 DE, and not suited for a 3-4 OLB. He should be traded away to a team that plays a 4-3, so that the team can save future salary cap space in excess of 6 million a season for a guy that sits on the bench. Salary cap saving plus a future draft pick for a guy that is not panning out for this team.

Right now i think he would do well on the Eagles, Jaguars, Saints, or Vikings. These teams may be more than willing to part with a production based draft pick or two for him. What do you jets fans think?

Vernon should OWN those burger/frie joints, .......with all that $$$ he's gotten !
