Now it is clear why Coach Pete Carroll was so upset last year when Mark Sanchez decided to turn pro. Coach Carroll knew then that Aaron Corp and Mitch Mustain were going to struggle if they had to step onto the big stage. It was also a bad sign when Corp and Mustain got beaten out by a true freshman. I hate to think it, but without Matt Barkley, USC's quarterback situaiton would be alot like UCLA's. Now everyone is hoping that Barkley's shoulder gets well in a hurry and we're afraid that Barkley could get injured again. Hopefully the coaches will be able to rebuild Aaron Corp's confidence. The kid is clearly very talented. Perhaps USC fans have been spoiled by Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, and Mark Sanchez. Even John David Booty did well (I can never forgive him for throwing four pick in the second half against Stanford and then comparing himself to Brett Favre). Is it possible that we fans are forgetting just how hard it is to be a successful quarterback in a big time college program?
