NFL  > Green Bay Packers  > DEAR FAVRE HATERS : WHERE ARE U ? ! ! !
September 30, 2009, 12:42 PM
Dear Brett Favre Haters ,
After having to endure months of reading your endless , pathetic anti-Favre rants ~

Suddenly , your pie holes are quiet ...

WHY IS THAT ?

Is it because maybe ...just maybe , the guy is actually GOOD for football ?

Forget the semi-lucky last second td he just threw to win the SF game Sunday :

Could it be that after watching him complete a pass & run 30 yards downfield to hurl his body at the 49ers Patrick Willis , you suddenly realized that the guy genuinely loves to play the game ?

Or is it just because your a bitter Never-was ,waiting & hoping to God he will fail.

Secretly lamenting the fact that the Qb you have on your team will never be as much of a leader / winner as # 4 ?

At any rate ~ Love him / hate him ...whatever.

There's no denyin' the guys a one-of-a-kind , and those priveledged enough to witness the Gunslinger work his trade in person will someday be able to tell the grandkids how they were lucky enough to see him in action .

CapnFox out.

ps - As an added bonus :
The Haters can revel the grandkids in tales of how , though they never actually saw him in person ... they used to go on Blog sights and rant about how selfish / sucky he actually was .

( Bitter Packer Backers * can brag about how a very wise man named Ted Thompson ran Favre out of town for draft picks and replaced him with the great Aaron Rodgers - and his lifetime sub .500 winning percentage )

* My sincere apologies to the handful of loyal Packer fans that stuck by Favre.
( Raw deal all the way @ )

I am here and I still hate Farve, the main reason is the press he gets.

I like to watch ESPN, I do not like having a daily story about Farve 300-320 days a year.

His gunslinger approach is a double edged sword, last weekend it worked, his last game as a Packer in OT it did not.

September 30, 2009  01:02 PM ET

he's a one of a kind alright.... and i've seen him in person in GBay. that's back when many admired him. yes, he's doing well w/ the vikes right now and may have some postseason play if he stays healthy. and yes, he is fun to watch at times and seemingly a good guy. but it's his primadonna ways that turn people off. his holding teams hostage till the last second, his back and forth "what am i gonna do?", his unwillingness to be a part of preseason drills, etc. he used to be a hero in many folks minds, but HE has damaged his legacy and that can't be changed.

September 30, 2009  02:32 PM ET

Hope he crushes Green Bay..Rodgers is going to try and keep up with the great and he wont be able to..

September 30, 2009  02:52 PM ET

B/C I can't even go into a message board without a thread about Favre. Get over this guy. Sheeshh.

September 30, 2009  05:55 PM ET

Rodgers is good, he just needs a D to not give a ton of points, burn clock and stop the run

September 30, 2009  05:56 PM ET

Favre is ok in my book as long as he retires a packer.

1) ESPN is full of semi-sucky fluff pieces anyway ... Favre or no Favre .

2) Did it ever occur to you that the reason the Pack even got to that 2007 NFC Champ Game OT was because of #4 's winning games with his gutsy gunslinging' ?

Brett Farve is nothing more than an attention seeking adolescent. Give it up dude. People are tired of your on again off again career. Go out on top, but just go

Let's see you crow in December when he has 12 td's and 14 picks and the Vikes are .500.

Exactly, I'm amazed at how quickly fans jump on bandwagons. Favre also looked great the first 11 weeks of the season last year. Actually, look at his December and January stats and Win/Loss record the past 6 years. They're dreadful. That's what comes from being a primadonna and finding ways to skip training camp every year. It will be the same thing this year.

I know you're not arguing that it's okay he threw away a chance at another Super Bowl because he managed to help them get to the NFC title game...

October 1, 2009  11:13 AM ET

I doubt that anyone who hated Fave prior to last Sunday loves him now. Why would they? If anything, their feelings may only be intensified by the accolades lauded upon him by the media. I'm wondering if you're more annoying when you're extolling the virtues of St. Bill of Foxborough or this seemingly new object of your affection. As I said to another poster, just because it's the internet, it doesn't mean that you have to be a sphincter.

Favre is a high risk passer. You have a high percentage chance of getting something great and fantastic out of him because he is gutsy. However, you also have a high chance of getting something bad happening (like an inopportune pick). He is what he is for better or worse. It seems to work out for him pretty often.

I might add much to my chagrin.

At what cost is he playing for the Vikings? His legacy in GB is demolished. Kaput.

I sincerely hope it was worth it. I admit, that was a helluva' game Sunday. ...the finish, anyway. He nearly threw a pick on the previous possession.

Actually I think Ryan Grant had as much to do with the 2007 Packers success than Farve, maybe more.

I wouldn't Say Demolished/Kaput...

Don't think the same happen to Joe Montana... In fact Montana's Chiefs vs Young's 49ers was great for the NFL, Produced one of the best games ever.

Bradshaw had a falling out with Chuck Noll and Management. All is forgiven there

I'm sure Green Bay will embrace Favre again when the time comes

Dear Keepinitreeuh ~ my a - h o l e obsessed friend
( Not sure which is cooler ~ your ultra clever moniker or your neat-O 49ers logo ... Just a guess but is that a sphincter Rice is emerging from ? ... San Francisco treat ? )

1) Favre BEAT YOUR TEAM ...
Call upstairs to your mom and have her make you another P, B & J ... get over it .

2) Don't be bitter 'cause St Bill turned your gift 2008 1st rounder into MAYO
( Singletary can coach ... but your inept front office can't help but continue to sabatage the 49ers future )

GIVE THE PATRIOTS PATRICK WILLIS & WE WILL THROW U A BONE !
( how 'bout we give u a 2nd rounder and promise to schedule a preseason game with you guys soon ? )

Just packing it in and going away, is not an option at present time. Wait until he can no longer compete. After all, the idea of life isn't about arriving at your grave with an attractive and intact body, but rather to arrive"skidding in sideways - redhead in one hand cocktail in the other - body run down, thrashed, trashed, used up, torn down, abused, kicking and screaming "HOLY SH|T - What a Freakin Ride" ... Just PLEASE tone down the over exposure for christs sake. It makes me no difference one way or another. I've never really been a Favre fan, but my sister likes his Wrangler ads. I don't hate the guy. In fact, I commend him for being able to compete and win at the highest NFL level at his age. I just don't give a rats ass what he does one way or another. The saturation level has reached its pinnacle with me. Win/lose/draw, or head back to Hattisburg - it's all good. If you need someone to blame, blame the media. THEY follow the guy around with their tongues hanging out, like a 13 year old following around a cheerleader when he's in the mid stages of puberty.
So - "Use it up Brett - Use it ALL up."
