NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > Let the rookie WR play.

If this team is trying to do all that it can to win, or at least be competitive, then it is time to give those second round picks some time catching the football. I like the effort of Furrey, but he is not as effective on grass as he was on turf. Cribbs just doesn't seem fluid enough to make the cuts and run the crisp routes needed on a consistant basis. Robiskie and Massaquoi should get some more opportunities, and maybe Cribbs should do what he does best--be a special teams machine. Cleveland needs to establish a presence at the #2 WR so Edwards can get down the field and not be double teamed every down. I'm not there at practice, but it seems that if BQ is going to be benched, why not try the rooks out too?

I never really cared for Robiskie when he was at osu, never seemed to have the determination to make a play. But I agree lets see what they can do, specially since the WR spot is one of our weak spots.

Once again lowcountry you are the voice of reason. Anderson is the type of qb that wants to get the ball deep. So we need to cut back a bit on mike furrey and josh cribbs. Id love to see a lot more massaquoi on first and seconds downs. I think he could be a great #2 or 3 option. And can Robiskie at least make an appearance? Wasnt he the most 'nfl ready' reciever in the draft?

I think we need to starting getting Massaquoi 5-6 looks this next game. We need another offensive deep threat to take the attention off of Edwards and he is really the only one that can do that.

Robiskie should at least dress, but..... I haven't seen enough of him to make a justified opinion about him. I know one thing- I wish we got Mauluaga in the 2nd round instead of him. Massaquoi is the better WR of the two.

Glad to see Massaquoi get in there and be a play maker on Sunday. Edwards was non-existent, but the rookie played a good game. Maybe that will free up Edwards in the near future. Happy to see the offense move the ball down the field.

Massaquoi made a real difference in there. IMO he should be the starting number 2 receiver.

Massaquoi did a fantastic job. Another game like that and he should be the #1 receiver. Watching his play reminded me of Webster Slaughter catching everything thrown his way. Give the rookies a chance to show why we drafted them.

He might get a chance to be a number 1 receiver, Edwards might get suspended from the league for his recent altercation.

Hell, Edwards could be traded by the deadline next week for all we know. Would Robiskie step into the #2 or would we then NEED Cribbs in the #2? After that we have Furrey & some kid from Villanova. I could see a WHOLE lot more double TE sets if Edwards is set packing. Just hope he's sent to the NFC.

That's a very interesting thought, trading Edwards now. I was somewhat surprised that they didn't dump him in the off season. This last misstep could possibly be the last straw. One possibly would be trading him for someone with a large/long contract that someone is looking to eliminate (ie, the Shack trade). That trade might take care of filling the position.

I read that coach expects Robiskie to perform better on special teams before he gets playing time. I wonder what the underlying reason is that he is not getting a chance to prove himself during a game as a receiver. I also heard someone mention Syndric Steptoe.

ClevelandPWND, good job for calling that one! Coach says he will look at who is the most ready to play opposite Massaquoi, including Robiskie. I expect he will be rotating players during the game to see who has the hot hands.

LOL kinda eeeeeeerie how accurate that was!

So, (and I am just spitballin' here)...... there is this little tiny feeling wayyyyyyy down deep that perhaps this whole Mangini thing was a set up to gut the Browns???? I mean.... I don't really believe that... but wow.... for two guys who didn't see eye to eye... they sure trust each other now...

OK... ewwwww... that was tooo far out for even me.... I'm just sayin....

If you wanted to gut a team of its players wouldn't go somewhere besides Cleveland?
