NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > Back To The Drawing Board Jerry....

When this season finally reaches an end Jerry Jones needs to murder his ego, fire Phillips and Garrett, hire Mike Shanahan and re-build this franchise. The current structure of the Cowboys isn't one condusive to winning..."ANYTHING!!!!!!!" Forgive my language but Romo Sucks!!!

Ha, so what QB do you propose Dallas goes out and gets to start?

In Romo's defense, look at our WRs. We hardly have a legit WR2, let alone a #1WR. Williams had done NOTHING, Crayton is no better. Hurd was the only one really playing, but he's a slasher...not a multiple move kind of guy. All of our WRs can be covered man to man, which allows the safeties to play nearer the line and cover Witten. If we get a real WR to play, maybe Romo can do something. I understand, Romo missed some of the guys, but there were passes that should have been caught and weren't. Take the 2 shots in the end-zone at the end of the game. A legit WR1 (like, say Marshall) would have gotten position on Bailey to prevent exactly that type of play...since we're relying on a kid whose spent most of his career hurt, you're not getting that type of play. Romo's not the entire problem.

I do agree with you in Firing Philips and Garrett...neither commands respect of the team. neither gets in the faces of players who mess up. Neither gets in guys faces for missing blocking assignments or stupid penalties. That being said, you'll NEVER see a coach like Shannahan on the team, as he's a coach who likes control...something Jones is unwilling to concede. When Jerry gets over himself and begins to realize that he's not very good at running the team and hires a REAL coach and a REAL GM, we might actually field a GOOD TEAM. Right now, we look like a bunch of uninspired underachievers.

LOL... Brett is always a option, After the Vikings performance on his "How many NFL teams I can Play for tour" is over...Dallas could be the next stop...lol

Hahaha Good one NYG.

Romo's not the entire problem. We have NO LEGIT WRS! We have NO coaching leadership. Why is nobody getting on the OL for the penalties? Why was nobody getting on Newman for blowing coverage on Marshall a bunch of times? Our staff is milk-toast, because that's how Jerry likes them...he likes guys with no brains of their own, and are willing to allow a meddling Billionaire direct the team into the gutter.

Should I bring back my Favre retirement announcement board?

lol

The things is, and I said as such on the above mentioned board, that Favre couldn't win in Dallas, so if he started for the 'Boys, could he win a home game?.....:-)

I've been saying it all along..........until Stephen inherits the team, expect Jerry to keep this garbage going as he has since running Johnson off.........

~~Hey Jerry Jones!.....500 coaches could coach the Cowboys!!!.Remember saying that?~~

495 left to go through.

Funny....Dan Reeves came and left in ONE WEEK! He could have really helped us, but Jerry ust couldn't learn to keep his nose out.

At the VERY LEAST, we need to fire the Offensive and Defensive Coordinators. Neither is inspiring these players. Neither is holding them accountable for the myriad of mental mistakes made in this game. Players need coaching that gets in their faces when they make mistakes. Remember Ernie Zampeze (probably mis-spelled it)...that great special teams coach that we had in the early-mid 90's? He's a perfect example...he showed energy 24/7 and got in ANY guys face who blew a blocking assignment on a kick or put the ball on the deck. We need coaches like that

You would think Jerry Jones would know this.....but, he is totally clueless, or acts like it anyway. Maybe his over sized ego won't allow anyone to be a "co boss" ( for lack of a better word) in that he "has the final say". His 'final say' has not worked in 13 years. How can he not realize that?

He can't be that stupid, or can he?

Its not stupidity but a blind arrogance or ignorance--either way we are phoqued until it clears a path for a real GM and permits him to hire a Coach with a real set, not Capt Cupcake who shares the same testosterone level as my mom. I look at the way Mike Singletary has turned his team around and I am in awe.

From what I understand about Dan Reeves is, Jerry wanted him to use a time clock, to check in and out. That's so childish. Was he going to pay Dan by the hour? If this is true, why would a man spend billions of dollars on Godzillastadium, and pay his consultant by the hour?

Maybe I'm wrong about the time clock thing, but it seems to me I read about it somewhere.

Bill, we fired the Def Coordinator last year; remember Cupcake took over in the latter part of the season and is calling the plays now. Letting Ellis go was a big mistake.

I recall the same but could have been a fabrication of sorts. Seems ludicrous and have never heard anything similar about time keeping at Valley Ranch.

We need Bill Cowher ... Jerry needs to back up the dump truck full of money and get a defense minded coach. Our defensinve players cant get any turnovers. No picks ... no fumbles. Barely any sacks.

Ninja,
no good coach is coming to town to battle egomaniac Jones for control of the team. With jones running as the GM we could see 20 yrs without a playoff win.

Bill Parcells tried, but when Jones got "the player", Parcells was counting his days. There's a reason Parcells wouldn't call 'the player" by his name..........Can't say I blame him either.

Maybe in a few years, Stephen will be running the team. We can only hope. But with my luck , Jerry will live to be another Methusalah at over 900 years, and retain his health and mentality.............lol

The next batch of plastic surgery will be his undoing, they will pull his skin so tight and high he will have a DlCK for a nose and will speak out his cornholieO. Wait aren't we already there.....

I think canty was a bigger loss than ellis. I still stand by my voice to fire the def coordinator. Getting rid of philips is certainly a start in the right direction.
