I just think that entire Raider Franchise has regressed! They are nothin more than a joke in this league. They play with no heart, desire, or sense of urgency whatsoever. Just show up, go thru the motions and collect a game check. There is no way you spend the type of money on a qb who is so ill prepared to play in the games like Russell! Zero accuracy, can't read coverages, etc.. Need I say more? In the age where qbs come into the league and are successful, I find Russell a total disgrace on the field of play! Don't give me that 'he needs some time' crap, because I can name fairly successful guys in the game now who've been in the league for a shorter time than he(Russell). He doesn't have any drive to work on his craft and laziness will not make you successful. He'll be out of football soon enough, so I hope he's saving his money!

Oakland is in a tough spot with Russell. $30M guaranteed, and three years left on his contract; he'll have next-to-zero trade value, so he'll probably end up being the most expensive third-stringer in the league starting next season. And Oakland will still be looking for a QB to get Al Davis the vertical passing game he wants so badly.

It's really a damn shame because Russell really showed promise in the 2nd half of last season. You would think he would be ready to start leading his team but 39.8 completion % through 4 games, that is pathetic, I don't care how bad the team, the organization, the line, the curse, the hot dogs at the stadium are, excuses. Under 40 % through 4 games (108 attempts) is pathetic and inexcusable.

The off season.

I have been a Raider fan for over 25 years and it's sad, but I have to agree that Russell flat out stinks. He plays like he was the ball warmer and became the QB one day before the season started. He has terrible mechanics, poor decision making, can throw 70 yards with authority, but can't make the five yard finesse sceen pass. I thought they were gonna make a move in the right direction, but as long as Russell is QB........... that will never happen! Who knows, maybe he comes out next week and plays like Ken Stabler....... I won't hold my breath.

As of 10/20/09 Russell has a QB rating of 51.0, What kind of future is that.

I'd like to see them trade Javon Walker.

You know how they say you have a good QB you just have to but him on a good team, well I don't believe even a good team would help Russell. He's just not that good.
