NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > Crabtree negotiating
October 5, 2009, 07:00 PM
The local news in the Bay Area has said that Mike Crabtree and his agent had gone up to the 49ers offices today 10/05/09 to negotiate a new contract. Maybe he is liking what he sees in the QB?

and maybe he is realizing this.... and SF ain't looking so bad now are they? greed.... you see it a lot these days w/ these young kids. unfortunately, the owners are at times quick to give these unproven players a truck load of $$$ before they actually produce. it's a gamble, like craps in vegas.

The kids getting some bad advice by someone and he is just too stupid to realize it

Crabtree's plan of sitting out the season and signing for big money after the '10 draft would have probably worked had it not been for Deion Sanders shooting off his mouth about the teams that were interested. Filing tampering charges was a good move by the Niners. It greatly strengthens their negotiating position. I won't be shocked if Crabtree is practicing on Wednesday.

I think what Jim Brown said might of hit a nerve in Crabtree."your going to be judged by what you do on the field and not by the amount of money you make". And that is a philosophy every person should remember.

SI is reporting that the two sides reached an agreement on a six-year deal. We'll see what happens.

good call.

What a perfect time to do your negotiating, when they are having the PRESIDENTS CUP in SF and you have tons of celebrities( political, sports, and entertainment) floating around. It will give him an idea what it's like living in San Francisco, besides the weather being picture perfect. Who needs money when you have all that.

6 year deal worth 32 mil and 17 guaranteed

October 8, 2009  04:29 AM ET

rumors of a 4m forfeit if, within 4 yrs, he has not appeared in 2 pro bows, or one pro bowl and participating in 80% of offensive snaps in a playoff year. 3 yrs left to do it, assuming he will miss this yrs 80%.

People that have broken this down have come to the conclusion that Crabtree really didn't gain a thing for his 2 month holdout. As long as he produces this will become a distant memory, the worst thing about the holdout is the amount of added pressure he has put on himself.
Just Wondering? Jets Tampering, Crabtree signs=Jets signing Braylon Edwards=was it true? this could be an added bonus for the 49ers if true.

I guess Crabtree is ....2 Legit 2 Quit...LOL

The whole MC Hammer thing makes all this weird..I don't think Crabtree's Future is very promising!!!

Rev.al sharpton and don king are on hiz'' advisory-commitee'' too !.......lol

How did this kid draw all the attention from well known people? Turns out MC Hammer pulls more weight than Sanders. If the NFL says Singletary can't wear a cross then they should tell players not to be in posession of deon sanders.

M.C. Hammer being a local boy who likes sports is the only reason I can think of for him being there. Maybe there are plans for a new group? Singletary,Sanders, Crabtree, and M.C. singing Christmas Carols. AAAAAALLLLLLVVVViiiiiiiiinnnnnnn. O.K. Dave.
