Exactly..can't trust stats. He forces teams to plan for him and as a result draws double coverage alot. While his hands are always reliable, he still can catch and still presents good mismatches. I'm not sure he or Dez should be #1..but rather playing when the play dictates it. If you need a blocking TE..Clark if not..Olsen. When did Davis become a super duper blocker? Its pretty much just physics, he's too tall to get low. If the Bears are desperate for a blocking TE..why not put Gaines into the active lineup..
Just my opinion but Cutler and the Bears Offense is spreading the ball around, there is no clear cut #1 W.R. nor T.E. both Hester and Olsen are listed as the starter but it doesn't mean all the balls are going to be thrown in their direction, throw to the open man. Teams cannot zero in on one guy this way, I'd rather have things the way they are now over Olsen or Hester getting all the looks because it forces teams to play honest in their coverage. It blows for fantasy teams but I would rather have Olsen, Davis and Clark all have ten catches a piece over one of them having 30 and same with the W.R.'s.
I saw Davis block two guys on one play, decked them both. Olsen has butter hands and I'd love to know how many drops he's had exactly - does anyone have the games on tape ? He's had major drops on 3rd downs for sure. In two games he has the ball thrown his way 14 times, he catches two of them - what happened on the other twelve passes for example ? Cutler's pretty damn accurate. Remember the Carolina game last year ? He dropped two sure TDs and cost us the game .... that would have gotten us into the playofs by the way

Talking fantasy - I'm dumping/have dumped Olsen off my 15 teams. Brent Celek and Vernon Davis have been much studlier for me ....

I will agree Olsen hasn't had the year so far most of us had hoped for but I don't think you just give up on him this soon. Kellen Davis has performed better than expected and I'm glad the Bears have such a good T.E. group. I for one do not put much stock on the "Starter Title" other than when it comes to the Q.B. because with deep talent at particular positions usually there is a rotation and Davis, Clark and Olsen will get their opportunities. I'm sure offensive schemes will be put in place to maximize each players abilities such as having Clark and Davis in on running plays.
Olsen has been perceived as a threat in the passing game and has taken up his share of double teams allowing the W.R.'s to go against single coverage on several plays which is one reason they are amassing the catch totals they have.
Totally agree with GSH. No way you bench Olsen. He's too talented. True he has to learn to beat the double team, but he has the potential to be a top five tight end in the league. Benching him is way way too premature.
Look at the effect Singletary had on Vernon Davis. Same thing. The guy was invisible. Singletary publicly benched him, made him accountable for his actions. Olsen is dropping balls and not blocking. Davis can do both and deserves a shot. I'd even bump him up to number one so if we only have one TE on the field then it's Kellen Davis. That's how much I'm unimpressed by Olsen and Clarke so far this year. We need to get that running game up to scratch and a TE to start snagging balls in the middle of the field.

Olsen won't get benched for Davis..Davis is slower and has about the same hands as olsen. Not to mention..Davis still isn't a very good blocker..
After watching the Atlanta game I just want Olsen to die, never mind benching him. What a waste of space. Can't block, can't run. Get to **** !

I was surprised he made it to the pros after watching him in college, and he still can't catch.

Wow
So when he caught the touchdown thrown behind him?..Or when he held onto the 41 yard pass he caught..Oh and he actually did have a pretty good block tonight. From what I've seen, he's improved each game. Why don't you take a break from crying..just because of your poor fantasy football team.
