NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > Good Riddance - Hasta La Bye Bye Braylon
October 7, 2009, 08:52 AM
I don't know about the rest of you... But I could NOT be happier that we got rid of this idiot. He drops more passes than he catches, he almost got kicked out of Sunday's game... he punched a wet noodle after the game... so go play for the Jets.

As much crap as we tend to give Mangini for his lack of player friendly attitude... here is one place I completely agree with him. If you are going to be a punk ****, you are going to have to do it somewhere else.

I am interested to see what we get in return, but right now, an extra pair of Nike's would seem like a steal for this guy. Seriously.

The Browns may be 50 years away from being a good team... but by sending that jerk out of town we just got better and one hell of a lot classier.

My only Complaint: There are 30 other teams out there, why do we have to get more of the Jets bench players?

I sympathize. I mean, look at how well the Jets are doing after they dumped Mangini and he took his players with him? The rats left the sinking ship....and now the ship is sailing again!

I think the key lesson learned in this whole fiasco is obvious: When in Cleveland, thou shalt not mess with LeBron!

October 7, 2009  10:03 AM ET

I could not be happier as a Jets fan. Say what you want about him, the guy is extremely talented. Who wants to play in cleveland anyway?? Changing QBs every other game. Nobody likes playing for Mangini anyway, a fresh start for Braylon, and a big target for the sanchize to finally throw to.

Let's hope (for the Jets sake) that he brings a big can of Stick-Um with him. Having a big target means very little when said big target couldn't catch a cold in Alaska.

Yeah... come back when he drops three passes in a row that could have won you the game. That has nothing to do with playing in Cleveland... and if it does... he's not a professional.

I am happy for you on how the Jets have played this year, honestly. However, as happy as you are now, I will very surprised if you don't start wondering what the guy is good for in a couple of months. He drops passes Stephen Hawking could make.

October 7, 2009  10:32 AM ET

I will not miss him for 1 second. He was gone at the end of the year anyways.

October 7, 2009  10:51 AM ET

I've caught bits and pieces of this story (can't quite understand why 2 millionaires are unable to play nice), but my understanding is that Braylon isn't out of the woods yet for his assault on The Last King of Cleveland's boy. If he does catch a case, doesn't he get suspended by the league? How much help is he going to be from the house Jets' fans? Hey, I'm a Cowboy fan, so I have my own problems...but I'm curious as to what those with a vested interest think.

October 7, 2009  10:55 AM ET

Yeah I was wondering that too... even if it doesn't actually go to court, I am pretty sure it's a violation of league policy to punch a guy in the face.

October 7, 2009  12:22 PM ET

When Mangini came in, he probably thought that he had a better chance of turning around Edwards than K2, but holding on to both of them would be to much of a drain to the team. When BE saw how Massaquoi performed, he got a bad case of reading the writing on the wall. Instead of punching the wall, he opted for the little guy. Now BE went beyond the point of no return in Cleveland and had to be sent packing.

The NFL and the Cleveland Police will both investigate and he will be punished accordingly. If after he has paid his dues, and if his new situation allows him to work without thinking, he still has the potential to be a top receiver. If he continues to let his head get in the way, he won't be getting that lucrative contract he is looking for next season.

October 7, 2009  12:39 PM ET

Maybe Braylon will do fine with the Jets. All he has to do is grow up, he has the talent.

October 7, 2009  02:15 PM ET

braylon is all about braylon....and if u think that wil change in the big city,,,,,boy this guy is gonna show them there city folk just how great he thinks he is. Get ready the time bomb is ticking

Living in OH, you see more than i do, but i find it hard to believe that almost 1300 yards and 16 TDs is just a fluke.

October 7, 2009  02:31 PM ET

About the only real superstar the Browns came close to signing was LeBron James but that was only for a commercial.

I have seen Edwards make some impossible catches early in his career. Since '07, his production has been less than satisfactory. We kept having the hope that he would leave his demons behind and live up to his potential. For you jets fans, it is still a crap shoot. Edwards and Sanchez could become one of the best 1 - 2 punches the league has ever seen, or he could pull your young QB down with him. I wish you luck, because that is what you will need.

Mongo confused Chansi Stuckly Jason Trusnik no = Braylon Edwards

October 7, 2009  03:10 PM ET

The guy has talent. His problem is that he's a raging anus. We'll see, but I think that Edwards must share lineage with Plaxico Burress.

Wow how those 2 guys must feel, going from the Jets to the Browns, leaving N.Y. for Cleveland.

October 7, 2009  03:24 PM ET

Braylon is a giant fantasy bust the last few years. The Browns suck and have no consistancy with their o-line except Thomas. Quinn and Anderson seem to be clip holders for the rest of their lives. If I was Braylon, thank god Im not, I would ****, don't get into any more trouble and pray every night he's not in Cleveland any longer.

GREAT MOVE- we get 4 additional players, two of which are future draft picks (although, Mangini might squander those picks again on special teamers).....

Good luck in NYC, Braylon. You're going to develop into an even bigger head case when you drop a ball there. You think Cleveland was bad when you didn't deliver, wait until the NY press gets their hands on you.

I really do hope he does well---> the difference between a 3rd or a 2nd rd pick is in his stone hands!!!!!!!
