depends on which team shows up. the team that played tampa and giants played well (even though romo struggled against the giants.) if the team that played denver shows up, we'd likely lose more. romo has to go back to his old style and make plays or just give the ball to his RBs and let the ground game win for them. if i had to say... i'd say dallas is looking at 9-7 again and wildcard maybe. but, changes are on the way in the off season - i hope.

Mongo think sad but true
Everything is life is decided by "choices", whether it's individual or as a group, or team. Someone makes a choice that will affect things in one way or another. Once that choice is made, then there's no changing it once it's run its course. George Jones had a song about "Choices".
Wade and his motley crew know what they have to do. Will they make the right choices, or ones they will come to regret? Nobody knows, and they're not saying. We can either support them in every manner and way, or not. Most of us have watched this team for anywhere from 30-45 years, and there's no changing us.
Sometimes we expect too much from people on this team, who are, after all, only human much like we are. Their fate is also determined by choices....choices sometimes made in the heat of the game when they have little time to debate the issue on what choice to make. Whether the choice they make is a good one or not, depends on how well they are trained and able to make a decision without having to think much about it. That's coaching.
That's not to say we don't reserve the right to b.i.t.c.h, bellyache, and moan and groan about what happens, because we most certainly do. I know I do...........alot. But, after it's all said and done, I pick myself up out of the dust, brush my britches off, and go one to the next one.
When things don't go well, I turn to humor a lot of times. Some of you already know that, especially my Bears fans friends. I've been doing a board on Favre for awhile now........about his retirement and yo-yo'ing and such. Beats arguing with the wife............*grins*
We'll all support the Cowboys, come hell or high water, but we sure don't have to agree with Jerry Jones. He and Owens will be my targets for my next humor board(s) when I get to them......lol
Hang in there fellows...........Friday's comin'!

The only problem with that is, if you corner a snake long enough, it will eventually strike.

You know, it would put a whole lotta good will in the bank for Todd Haley to beat the Cowboys in Arrowhead. If anyone gets the Chiefs' best punch this season, it'll be the Cowboys this Sunday.

Exactly. I don't know whether Haley and Jerry Jones got along, but if not, Haley would love nothing better than to put a knot on Jones's forehead.........lol
Matter of fact, I think most anyone would like to do that too.......knock some sense into his head.......maybe.

My question is, even with a .500 record and victory and a 1.000 just two plays away is this team GOOD or is this team really a .500? I think it is the latter.
My thoughts are that this current bunch is really a below .500 team. Sure the teams they lost to are now 4-0; but let's look at how they lost to the Broncos: turnovers-stupid penalties-missed assignments-bad decisions-bad play calling (same as last season)-lousy defense in the closing minutes of the game-no sense of urgency...Now contrast that with how they barely defeated the Panthers (a team they should have dominated): stupid penalties - stupid penalties (yeah two times) - bad play calling - lousy defense in the closing minutes of the game - lucky pick six for the win - no sense of urgency...
I'm a looooong time Cowboys fan who loves the team and always will; but I'm also a football fan who knows the difference between a good team and an awful team...The Giants, Saints, Broncos, Colts...are good teams. The Cowboys right now are equal to the Panthers, Buc's, Raiders... They are playing a very sorry brand of football. Finishing with a 7-9 record looks very do-able

I think a lot of the Cowboy fans here are adjusting expectations to the .500 area and anything better will be a pleasant surprise.
As I sit and watch with my son (who goes apoplectic at stupid mistakes--mistakes I have seen for 40 years) we speculate if it would be possible to field a team with moderate physical skills but over the top cerebral skills that could just "out play with flawless execution" any team in the league; like I say "don't work harder just work smarter". If the Cowboys could work smarter and eliminate the mistakes they could make up for the minor measure they lack in physical skills. The Coaches need to take them to the next level of performance; the problem is from the neck up.

You got that right.
I have yet to see "firmer coaching" either.

I couldn't agree more.........
Through 5 games the Cowboys are the #1 offense in the NFL. Hard to believe but true. However the media would have us believe they are woefully inadequate. Yes we need better receivers and yes we need better line play but we ARE getting a lot of offensive production. Romo and the offense are not the problem. It's Wade's defense that is the problem and I'm placing the entire blame on the coaches because we have the talent at every position.
There...I feel better now.

BFG,
Rankings come from yards only (assuming you are correct as I have not looked at stats today) but the results of all those yards are a bit suspect, no redzone production yesterday, think of the poor play calling that left points on the field or resulted in field goals. Like you I blame the lack of motivation in the coaching staff and no accountability for mistakes. The penalties are inexcusable....period. Until Wade and his weakass coaching is gone they are destined to .500. Prepare for a loss vs well coached Atlanta next week to plunge us all into the doldrums.

I got a text from a buddy that said "a win is a win." The Boys struggled against a horrible KC team and thats all he could come up with. Yikes. With the staff in place you will never win anything. Miles Austin had to have the game of his life just to win this game. No chance you make the post season. I guess Jessica Simpson wasn't the problem. Maybe you should be looking more towards the coaching staff and the man under center.

Agree with you on the red zone production. That too is 100% the fault of the coaches. The Cowboys get to the red zone by running Barber and Choice and throwing to Witten. Once in the red zone Choice and Barber are on the sidelines and Witten is lined up as a tackle. What kind of a threat is that? The coaches call for slant routes thrown to #4/#5 receivers or fade routes thrown to our 2nd year class clown from Texas A&M. I'd rather go with money (Witten, Barber, Choice).
Do you think the NY Giants line up at the goal line without Brandon Jacobs or Ahmad Bradshaw in the backfield? I didn't think so.
How hard is this to grasp, Wade?

Its true tho..there is talent at just about every position..the O puts up decent numbers, heck Romo had 350+ yards in this..how can that be looked at as bad? (i understand the ignorant will chime in and its auto bad) But seriously...all fans agree something has to change if we want a shot at the post season.
I realize idiots that the Cowboys have no shot whatsoever at making the playoffs or ANY other team with 2 losses...

Yeah a win is a win unless your having to go into overtime against a really bad KC team. Didnt KC lose to Oak? I mean how bad can you be if you lose to Oakland. Im not ignorant, Im smart and see the truth. You will never win anything with Romo and Phillips at the helm. I could have a debate with anyone on who the dumbest sports fans are: Cowboy or Yankee fan. I lived in Dallas last year. I heard all of you talking about having a Super Bowl parade before the first snap of the preseason. High hopes mean you will have giant letdowns. You haven't won a playoff game in a decade. How bout you just be happy you don't completely suck? Not whether you will make the playoffs or win the whole thing. If you struggle with the Chefs, you are not in the category of contender.
McCall, Romo is an above average QB. The coaching is dragging him down. The team is just better than .500 (and I don't mean b/c they are currently 3-2) but will need better coaching and motivation to get to the playoffs.

You're smart and see the truth? Then, pray tell, when you lived in Dallas, and "heard" all of us talking about having the SB parade, etc. etc., why is it you didn't see or hear me? Just because you "hear" people on the street, or read articles in the paper, means nothing. I'm about 6 hours south of Dallas, yet you "hear all of us". Gimme a break.
Hope is the essence of everything a man (or woman) has. If someone has no hope, then they have nothing. Most Cowboys fans are not as "dumb" as you are saying they are. We know what kind of team we have, and we hope they have a good year, but we are realistic enough to know they may not, because we have had twenty years of Jerry Jones, and the last 13 has made realists out of most of us.
A giant letdown? I think not. My real life goes on whether or not the Cowboys win, and I'm sure I speak for the majority of us. So, it's probably a good thing for the City of Dallas that you moved on. It would be a good thing for Fan Nation for you to do the same.
You're smart. Do the right thing.
