NFL  > General NFL  > Ed Hochuli needs to be FIRED!!
October 7, 2008, 10:59 AM
I am not blaming the ref for the Saints loosing against the Vikings. I am stating that Ed needs to get the shaft, after he blew a call against the Chargers, and the Broncos. Then he came back, and apologized. Well, lets look at last night Peterson supposedly his knee was down before the ball came out. Then talked on his mike for 5 minutes claiming the ball was still in Adrians hand. Clearly if you look on ESPN it is a fumble. Then to miss a facemask penalty on Reggie that was so clear my granny could even point it out. Critical, Reggie fumbles turnover. We may have won our game last night if these two calls would of been correct. The Chargers would of won the game if Ed would have called it a fumble, instead of a incomplete pass. Come on NFL do something about this BULLSHEET. I know the game can be fast, but if it is to fast for him lower him down to reffing high school games, if not that freeking pee wee. Ed is to worried about making his sleeves to tight that it is cutting circulation to his eyeballs. Ha, ( Momma can you fit one more stich in my sleeve). NFL doing something about this. Now I want to hear yall's opinion.

Uh, no. If you watch it again, and this time actually watch it without your Saints glasses, Adrian still had the ball in his hand. As soon as his knee hit, it jarred loose and flipped out of his hand. Correct call.

The face mask was there, and THEY should have called it. But you can't put that solely on Ed.

And it sux that people are all crazy like you that Ed had to explain every freakin' call last night. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

I agree, its a simple call, dont need to write a book for all the babies out there that need a definition of the play call, he made good calls, of course not for N.O. Its N.O, they couldnt keep the penalties down, get mad at your team rather then Ed. He did the best he could, your right, not only him out there.

And there is always a call or two in the game that are missed, get over it..N.O played like utter crap, thats why they lost, not "wrong" flags.

I agree and not only as a saints fan but refs period have to much say in games.. from the baltiomre tenn game and the roughing call back to the broncos chargers.. saints broncos and even to last night i was at the game and they had multiple blown calls that he even acknowledged to coach payton that he just blew he should be fired..

I think Ed is a standup guy. Yes he made a bad call. If the call would go in favor of your team, then it would have been the correct call. Get over it, stop whining, and give the man the respect he deserves.

I think I stated in my post that im not blaming Ed for the Saints loosing to the Vikings. I think that is the first sentence in my post, you uncomprehensive rantards. I am just saying he is a NFL refferee that gets paid to make the right calls. Robert, you have announcers saying that it should of been a fumble. Well, like I said in my first sentence on both post, and comment I am not blaming Ed. I think Ed should be observed by the NFL in the way he has handled some calls. Everybody has there own perception on each, and every call that occurs in the NFL. Well, there is mine, and fumble rooskie whining isn't the work. Has to go a little something like BEOTCHING.

WORD*

He also had about a ten minute explanation of an offsides penalty. It's almost like he knew he blew some calls so he has to explain everthing in detail after that. All I can say to Saints fans is you just got some bad luck with calls. Those things have a way of balancing out though by the end of the season.

October 7, 2008  02:12 PM ET

Whenever a fan pisses and moans about his own team losing, i usually tune out.

The Saints lost because they blew it. How about Gramatica not missing field goals, or the Saints holding onto the football? You can't rely on Reggie to return punts for TDs to keep you in the game.

October 7, 2008  02:55 PM ET

take all that and you still had a chance to win the game late and blew it plain & simple....please stop crying

October 7, 2008  03:01 PM ET

The fact is that Ed is one of the league's best Refs, year in and year out, if not the best. Yeah, he made a bad call but the man is human after all and allowed to make a mistake every once in a while.

I agree with others, Ref's can't see everything, and can't be "point to giant screen" and told you missed that, everyone will question thier job, he made the correct call, relax, stop making mistakes, penalties, no crying please, life goes no:-)

Ed sucks on donkey balls.

Well, it may be so. I've never personally witnessed this, but he does have awful large biceps for an attorney.

Oh, and the football was still in Peterson's possession when his knee went down. His arm was moving, and the football definitely did come out, but at the time the knee went down? Possession. Sorry, guy.

WOW, I stated in my post that I AM NOT BLAMING ED HOCHULI FOR THE SAINTS LOOSING!!!!!I AM NOT BLAMING ED HOCHULI FOR LOOSING!!!!I AM NOT BLAMING THE REFS FOR LOOSING. Do ya'll get the point now. Brokone as the Charger fans that if Ed is the best ref in the league. All im saying is you can't tell me that they couldn't see Reggies head being completely turned around, and on the official review the ball sliding out before his knee was down. Should we have won yeah, did we no. We kicked our self in the A55 at critical times, with weird unusual plays. I am done with what I have to say, Ed sucks on donkey balls.

Nah..you are mad cause you lost, I heard that crowd, all boos, I understand you back your team, but the calls were right, still booed, after that, still booing at Ed, blah to you, dont be bitter.

October 7, 2008  04:28 PM ET

You want to fire Ed because he has to follow the rules?

Why not start and inqusition on all the judges that stand by unfavorable supreme court rulings?

October 7, 2008  04:54 PM ET

Teach Bush how to hold on to the ball and you might win some games Saints...

October 7, 2008  05:32 PM ET

You're a moron. Hochuli is a great ref.
