Tainted? How you say? The Yankees payroll has nothing to do with buying a championship. !st off they haven't won a world series in 8 years. so that just proves you can't buy one. you have to go out and win one. yes, they will, because on the field right noe they appear to have the best over all team and the best round about clubhouse, with Swisher and Burnett, fitted into the mix. One thing they have been missing the last few years was a great commerraderie, and now they have it. Plus it doesn't hurt to have great bull pen now too.

I will start off by saying I am no fan of the yankees. But I also don't whine about their ability to buy the best players. How is it tainted, they have an owner that wants to win, period. He will spend whatever it takes to field the best team possible. They pay soo much luxury tax that it is more than a few teams total payroll. Plus if your team was able to buy any player they wanted, would that be tainted too?

And they still make money, to make money you have to spend money, and in pro sports spending money means getting the best available players.
