NFL  > New Orleans Saints  > SAINTS FINALLY A COMPLETE TEAM
October 13, 2009, 02:16 AM
It has been years since the Saints have had a real complete team effort. It seems like in the past the Saints have either had a great defense or a great offense but not both together in the same year. It looks like this year is the year for a complete team effort. Coach Payton has finally put all the pieces together to make a serious run towards the playoffs and i feel the Super Bowl this year.

Looking fwd to this weekends Giants/Saints game. Would be interesting if Vikes or Saints come of the roster of teams without a Superbowl Win. Saints never even made the trip.....time will tell

They really look good this year. Darren Sharper is the only guy I know of they added on defense, and he has made a big difference. The offense is a lot of fun to watch like they have been for a few years.

I feel it this year. I might say that every year, but this is different. Like yall said, we have an O and a D. Thats why this times different. Im sick of people dis'n the saints, I cant wait to rub this years superbowl in everyones face. GO SAINTS!!!!!!

The offense is the same and on D the only new key additions are in the secondary - Sharper, CB Greer and 1st rounder Jenkins. The biggest acquisition is DC Williams. The most unselfish move ever is Sean Payton giving up $250,000 of his own money to lure Williams, whose obviously made a huge difference.

It's all coming together...Geaux Saints!

Yes, Yes, RodgerDodger. The offense kind of sputtered the last 2 games and the Saints still won. Last year, those would have been counted as losses.

Did you read the story of how Sean Payton made the decision to take a salary hit? He had a couple of beers in his back yard by the fire and decided to make the move.

I love those kind of decisions.

The saints will have to get by Farve and the Vikings unfortunately, and there is something magical about Farve! Remember the game played after his father passed. Like I have said before...
old age and treachery vs. youth and beauty! I would rather see the saints for the simple fact of everything that town been through!

I did see that story and isn't it a great one. That's what I'm talking about. I wonder if he was drinking some Dixie beer!

You're right about the last 2 games. In years passed we would have definitely lost both. But what was so good to see against Buffalo was the running game winning the game in the 4th quarter. Pierre Thomas really went off and we didn't need the passing game to be spectacular. Against the Jets, the D outscored the O, 14-10. That's gotta be a first. Complete team is right.

Of course they're the #1 D, the collective record of their opponets is 6-19.

They have a good team, looking forward to game on Sunday.

Well, I hope this puts all the disrespect to rest. THE SAINTS ARE FOR REAL. There isn't a more complete team in the league. Period. They just spanked and embarrassed the darlings of the sports media. Now we get to do the same to the AFC darlings, the Patriots, in front of a national Monday Night audience in a couple of weeks. The road to the SB will be going through the Superdome this year. Geaux Saints!!
