NFL  > Chicago Bears  > Week 6...The Atlanta Falcons, time to get some respect
October 18, 2009, 11:21 AM
The Bears have had two weeks to prepare for the Falcons, anything less than their best performance of the year is un-acceptable...the Bears have a very good team, and they must stand up and take the position that is looking them right in the face, as a great team...

They must stuff Michael Turner, and they can not let Atlanta own the clock, they need to punish their WR's at the line with a strong chuck, and the Bears will beat the snot out of the Falcons...they owe us from last year theft of a victory....

I know it does rain inside the Georgia Dome, but we need to rain on their parade...

I agree 100%. After this game we will have earned the respect of the entire NFL. Then after wins against Cincinnatti, Arizionia and Philadelphia or at least 3 of the previous four we will be ready to take on Minnesota in their house. Go Bears!!!

This is going to be a good match up. A win is expected seeing we are true fans, but a loss will not be a total blow to me. Atl is a good team. If we are blown out, I will be severely upset though.
Should be a battle of special teams. We lead the NFL on ST returns, and ATL leads in stopping returns.
Atl has a bottom half passing defense, and we need to expose that, and quickly. Waiting till the 3rd and 4th quarters to make runs isn't going to work against this team.
Lastly, we need to put pressure on Ryan. No pressure, no win. I think this will be the biggest tell all, for a Bears W.

Go Bears!

This board is full of experts from the sound of it. You earn respect you don't get respect. Thhe Bears are a good team and ATL is too, I honestly think it is going to be a lot to ask for to go into ATL and beat them, but you never know. I thought my Niners matched up well with them and we saw what happened there. This game will be much closer though, good luck.

It looks like the battle for the wildcard is going to come down to Chicago, Atlanta and Philly. All three of them are better then who ever is coming out of the west. We absolutely need a win tonight. We lose and we are third in our own division. On top of that, Green Bay and Atlanta would own the tie breaker for the wild card. As far as the recent trade....... I don't think we'll know for over a year how that worked out. If Adams can get double digit sacks next year then it was worth it. It will allow us to not overspend on Wale and/or Anderson. Hopefully we can use the money to pick up a lineman and a db or two. That's if it works out. If not, we gave up a second round pick in what is shaping up to be one of the deepest drafts of all time. Guess we'll find out.

Why is Omiyale still starting? I don't care how much money was wasted on him, all he did was miss block after block..I saw him on the ground almost every play. Absolutely pathetic redzone offense on top of that..at least Cinncy is back to being Cinncy..

I hate losing games we should have won. First I must say Atlanta is better than I thought and say good luck to them. You have a good team. The thing that jumped out to me is "What running game?" of the Bears? We couldn't run our way out of a wet paper bag. Forte always looks like he is expecting to fall down as he runs. He leans forward too much anticipating the hit of the opponet before he even gets hit. Oh do I ever miss the days when teams tried unsucessfully to stop our running game and couldn't. Even with eight men in the box Walter delivered. I know ancient history. Time to start Beekman. Before we try to rebuild with out any draft choices. Maybe we need to get Rhodes too. If we put too much on Cutler we have to expect this type of game. He always looked like the mental pressure of carrying the whole team was too much for him. Shake them up Lovie. Or your efforts will go to making the next coach of the Bears look good. Good luck. Go Bears!!!!
