NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > Defense takes a step backwards against Steelers.

Eleven plays of 20+ yards will almost guarantee you a loss in the NFL. After a decent first half performance by the Browns defense, they fell apart in the second half. It makes you appreciate D. Jackson and K. Wimbley--hope they return soon.

I agree that Jackson and Wimbley are missed although the only area the linebackers were lacking yesterday was in pass coverage. Our secondary is just sad. They seemed to be making tackles OK, but they did a poor job in preventing the reception in the first place. The steelers had 417 yds. passing, pathetic. Maybe more pressure from Jackson and Wimbley would of helped, they were averaging 11 yds. per pass.

B. McDonald stood out like a sore thumb Sunday. Apparently he was hurt, but it was also apparent that he was scared to tackle anyone. Even when he forced that fumble he was waiting on the fringe and then decided to hit Parker. C. Francies has a nose for the ball, but he was not playing either. And what happened to M. Adams? He had a great game against the Bills, but I don't remember seeing him at all against the Steelers.

I've been screaming about McDonald since last year when many times I saw him standing around 5 yds. away doing nothing while teammates struggled to make a tackle. I think Francies should have replaced him permanently in the first game of the season. I can't remember the play, but I do remember Adams standing out on at least 1 play. I think he made a good tackle when someone failed to defend the pass.

I agree on the Fracies comment. This kid a thumper, but not too sure about the coverage skills. I think he's fairly fast though. Adams has been pretty solid also.

I to would love to see Francies in there. The kids a thumper & knows how to tackle. Not sure about his coverage skills, but he is fast.
