Well this team did it again, and we can all be thankful that this one wasn't down to the wire again (I don't know how many of those I can take, I'm 25 feeling more like 75 after some of those games)

Thoughts on this game, the season thus far, and what you expect moving on....

Ok here are my thoughts from last night???.

-I can NOT talk enough about what Mike Nolan has done for this D. Not only are they playing inspired football (which Brian Dawkins should get some credit for as well), but I LOVE this play calling. For the past few years I have yelled and yelled at my TV, to no avail, when I would see Champ Bailey lined up 10 to 15 yards off of a WR and watch the defense play on their heels costing lead after lead. So, here we were with a late lead in a close game in SD and what does Mike Nolan do? Puts Bailey up tight, brings the house, rocks Rivers??? world, and WINS THE GAME! (PLEASE MAKE SURE NOLAN STAYS IN DENVER!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY, PLEASE!!!!!)

- On offense it seems like EVERYONE is an option right now. I would HATE to defend this team. One week Royal is catching everything, the next it???s Marshall, Stoakley, Scheffler, Gaffney, who do you cover? I LOVE how Orton sees the field, the guy is a smart QB and I have ALWAYS said I???ll take smart QB over athletically gifted QB any day.

-How about this O line? I swear there were times Orton just sat there and checked each WR about 4 times each.

-Dumervil could be the best Defensive player in football right now.

-Is it just me or do you feel like this team just isn???t done yet. They don???t seem satisfied AT ALL with where they are right now. I feel like anything short of a Super Bowl just won???t do, and I LOVE IT.

-With Dumervil, Marshall and Scheffler all free agents at the end of the year, I want to see some new contracts at the end of the year??? that said whatever happens I TRUST McDANIELS to do what works best (think everyone in Bronco Nation knows better than to doubt our head coach by now.)

-And last but NOT least, give credit where credit is due??? Pat Bowlen, with all the stories in the NFL on bad owners in Dallas, Oakland , Washington and so on, we need to realize the BEST owner in the game may be in Denver. He fired a close friend at Head Coach, watched his QB walk, his star WR throw fits, but kept faith in his coach and allowed McDainels to do his job???. Against NE Bowlen was on the sidelines in a hoodie??? LOVE IT!

Good points Schwartz. Yeah my biggest worry is that Nolan continues to create this amazing defense, then get's a Head coaching job elsewhere. Luckily with Shanny, and Cowher and others around that might not happen for a couple years.
Chargers showed that we still have a few weaknesses, but we adjust well. And even outside of our smart DC we have smart players. We got screened to death in the first half last night. Then in the 3rd quarter I saw a D-lineman of ours (my guess is Reid) have an open path to Rivers. But he recognized INSTANTLY that it was a screen and instead of biting and going towards rivers he took a step back and sprinted 10 yards to the left and cut off a cutback lane for LT, allowing one of our safeties to come screaming in for a tackle at scrimmage. THAT'S what I love the most. NO MORE OVER PURSUING. NO MORE SPEED AT THE EXPENSE OF INTELLIGENCE. As was said last night--we do everything right--not necessarily anything amazing (though that could be disputed with our linebacker and CB play).
One thing that needs to be remembered though is this: YES Mcdaniels has made this team take that next step that Shanny just seemed unable to do (For the first 6 games anyway). BUT we need to give Shanahan credit. HE BUILT THIS O-LINE. So, I agree Nolan and McDaniels have transformed this team. But also, Shanny still has his fingerprints on this team. Way to go Denver. Rest up. I'll be at both the Ravens and the Skins games against Denver. A Baltimore win would be huge.

And of course he added Scheffler, Marshall, DJ, Dooomervil, and Royal. But those were obvious.

Hey guys, don't choke on the Kool -Aid! i know were 6-0 ,but it's early in the season. the best thing I like about our coach "McD" is that he's not satisfied with the wins, but wants to see improvements every week. That is a good sign for the future, because if Coach McKidd expects better performances every week then we can only get better after the bye week and into the second half of the season...

But the Kool-Aid is SOOO GOOD!!!!

I doubt that Nolan goes anywhere for a while, he has failed as a head coach and is a gread D coord. He falls into the category of Dick Lebaeu of Pittsburg.

McD has been great this year.

I was worried with how the D played w/o Dawkins. No one should be that critical to a team.

I don't know how many of you guys read TD's but Confusius is a dingleberry and can't admit that Denver is the better team.
