NBA  > General NBA  > The only way the lakers wont repeat is injuries to key players
October 22, 2009, 04:18 AM
The cavs, celtics, magic and spurs are all very deep and talented teams, but the lakers are loaded and have the closest thing to michael jordan this game has ever seen and has the greatest coach of all time. Andrew bynum is someone the league will be very afraid of this season if he stays healthy all year, have any of you seen what he is doing in the pre-season reminds me of a young shaq, Scary to think he hasn't even taped his potential yet. Pau Gasol is one of the best all around big men in the nba, he proved he had the heart and toughness in 2 games against boston, clevland and against the likes of tim duncan last season, not to mention how well he played offensively and defensively against the best center in the L Dwight Howard in the finals, granted Bynum helped out against superman too but Howard did nothing in that series accept one game he blocked 9 shots... Lamar is Lamar Mr. everything for this team... Add Ron Artest the tru warrior a gritty defender who has the heart of a lion and will to win like kobe, he says some crazy things at times and gets some techs here and there but all the naysayers want to say he will bring them down based upon the brawl in 04 and his past reputation, but he has grown The F up, he was fine in sactown, and was a huge reason the rockets had a great run against the lakers last year... He will not be asked to score but he will knock down wide open threes with all the double teams kobe, pau, and yes bynum will receive this year, his defense with kobe will lock down any guard small forward kobe in this league hands down... Our bench is young and very athletic and these guys are very confident now since they have been with this team for the past 4 years, farmar and savu will have better seasons, fish will still bring that vet leadership and gritty hard nosed attitude, brown will fill some key holes when needed. I could go on and on about kobe but I don't have too, I know how bad he wants to win and he will not stop at 4 just because the celtics have a solid team with aging all-stars whom none compare to him, or to a up and comming orlando team who he just beat in the finals, or to an aging but newly revamped spurs team who 2 years ago he dominated in the western conf finals, or too the cavs.. Lebron will have his day but not while kobe has this team, while he has 4-5 years left of prime basketball in his body. He works to Fing hard... Love him or hate him he is one of the greatest players this game has ever seen so at least respect his work ethic, respect his love, respect his passion, respect his gift from God instead of knocking everything he has gone through Colorado incident etc, were all human we all make mistakes, losing in 2 straight finals only to bounce back repair his image, win a title, create a teacher student relationship with phil jackson, and turn his life over to God and his family... I look forward to the season, but only one team will come out on top and that team will be the Lakers for the second straight season...
