From the Dallas Cowboys website, an article called ..."Numbers Don't Lie".... by Jeff Sullivan, a DCC staff writer, He starts off about the same way you do. And, I quote...
"His career record as a starting QB was 62-63-4, He threw 173 TD passes and had 220 interceptions.....in a 12 year career.............." unquote.
It goes on even further, but Sullivan is referring to Joe Namath, not Tony Romo. There are some interesting stats there, but you don't mention those. Why? I'd like to know how you confused Namath with Romo?
You expect us Cowboy fans to be dumb asses, don't you?
For a Saints fan, you sure watch the Cowboys a lot, but yet you still know nothing. He has NOT been in the league 7 years for one thing. This is his THIRD year as a starter. He didn't play at all in 03, 04, or 05, played 10 games in 06 after he relieved Bledsoe, played 16 games in 07, 13 games in 08 and has 5 games so far this year. 44 games as a starter and he's won 30 of them.
He has fumbled 35 times, but lost only 14. You didn't mention that. Why?
This board has NO credibility at all. NONE.
And, for your information, I did see Meredith play, so I know who Staubach and White are, as well as Glenn Carano, Gary Hogeboom and other QB's that's came and went. You may try to BS a lot of younger fans, but this one you won't.
I'm not a 'Boys fan but yes, it's time to draft someone new. You've got three new QB's coming out this year...Tebow, Stafford and McCoy. Tebow will probably go to the Jags but Dallas can move up via trading and pick up either Stafford or Colt.
Romo is streaky at best and isn't a leader.

Regardless of anything that is said about whether it's time to draft another QB, or trade for one, it still comes down to Jerry Jones, and what he decides. When he gets tired of Romo, then I imagine he will do something. But, all we can do as fans is watch and hope, much like anyone else with their team.
I will say this tho. If Jones does keep Romo, then it sure wouldn't hurt to draft someone who could give hm some competition in the near future, and this Stephen McGee they drafted last year may or may not be the one, being that he came in the 7th round. But, Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th. So who knows? We may already have a replacement, and just don't know it yet.

As his career as a starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, Tony Romo???s is a measly 62-63-4. He threw 173 touchdown passes and 220 interceptions, and played 7 seasons. He has fumbled 35 times. His passing rating is 86.5. This is a 7 year combine total. Looking back at the past when the Cowboys were really ???Americas Team??? there was Roger ???The Dodger??? Staubach???. He ran the Cowboys like a well oiled machine. Get this no fumbles in 11 seasons. He had a passing rating of 83.4. That was damn good back then. Danny White was a better QB than Romo. But most of you probably don???t remember him. Look 13 seasons no fumbles and had a passing rating of 81.7.Last but not least there was Troy Aikman. He was the last good QB that Dallas had. After he and Jimmy Johnson left the team just never did get back to that championship level. Okay Troy did fumble BUT, he did bring the team into the Superbowl 3 times so it washes out. His passing rating was 81.6.Romo is not at caliber are level of QB???s. He never will. If he was Dallas would have been in a Superbowl. Now knowing this and Dallas???s history, nobody can justify that Romo is as good as his predecessors.Jimmy Johnson was the last great coach that Dallas had. They need to recruit fresh blood like they did when they recruited Jimmy. Dallas will keep floundering around until they get serious. I hope that the owner does come off his throne and make world wind decision that will shake up the NFL. Don???t you think it???s time?
What an idiot...plain and simple.
Go back to school..learn the game stats, study NFL.com or something and then come back when those are turned into "FACTS" Facts do wonders vs just random numbers you think look good..fool.

Nope...in a few years..then yes, start worrying about another franchise qb..I still think Romo is capable for winning the big game and then some, its early in his career and no nothing idiots (like you) dont seem to get that through your head.

And what has he done that makes you think he's capable of winning the big game? When was the last time he did?
Idiots like you can't seem to understand that he's not the real deal. Troy Aikman himself, I'm sure you remember him, has ripped on Romo.
Who's word should I take? Yours or Troys? Hmmmm....let's see....HoF QB or some loser that thinks he knows everything.
I gotta go with Troy on that one.
You've got three QB's coming out this year that are going to be better than Romo. Draft one while you can.
Romo isn't that great and, pay attention here because this is part of the problem...he's not a leader.

Rayne, you're wasting your time trying to talk with this guy. He does this with anyone, even other Cowboy fans. He finally replied to me once and admitted he loves nothing better than what he does, and that I should see his hate mail.
So, if you want to continue arguing with him, you're likely not going to get any response.
Just so you'd know.

I love how this board makes it known when something is copied and pasted from another site. This ass just didn't know how obvious it was. Plus Bull apparently read the same article so that screwed him as well. Ha ha ha.
Being a Dallas fan is probably like being a Duke fan in the sense that there are plenty of haters out there to hate so you really don't need fellow fans being dumb asses about your team.
By the way I hate the cowboys!
Oops, I guess he is not a Cowboys fan but a Saints fan. So that throws my statement about "fellow fans" out the window. He is just an uneducated hater. I hate the "boys" for always keeping us out of the SB, I don't know why a Saints fan would waste his time **** with Cowboys fans. Some people I swear!

LGD, you do realize that Seymour Johnson AFB is right up the road from you right? About 9 minutes flight time. Can I trouble you for the coordinates for your house please. WGS-84, degrees minutes decimal and out to the thousandths? That would be like N34-13.XXX, W077-56.XXX, elevation if you got it.......
<taps fingers calmly....>

I can tell you that my house is directly accross the street from ILM on Blue Clay Road. Are you going to drop some food rations? Mmmmmmmm I love the lasangua, shake it don't stir it. Warms right up almost magic.
Also, you wouldn't know the story behind the Harrier jets being around a lot lately, would you?

Food Rations? I think NOT. How about some tritinol (sp?) conveniently packaged in some #2000 GBU-10s or JDAM? Cowboy haters don't get no food from me I tell ya. As for the Harriers from Cherry Point? Maybe with the fall season upon us they changed their active runway and now are flying approaches over your house or general area.
As for that JTAC target description? That might work to get the FedEx man to your house or Aunt Margaret but I need those target coords pronto soldier....!!

This is Laison's 3rd attempt to try and hornschwaggle Cowboy fans, to deceive us into believing as he does, because he is so "knowledgeable"...........lol.........Dude got his hand caught in the cookie jar. But, he will be back in a few days and bless us, especially me, once more with his..........uh..........abundance of Cowboy lore and knowledge.
Duke, let me ask you something. Did not the 49'ers win a SB with Young, and made it where we couldn't do 3 in a row? That was an accomplishment in itself, don't you think? There was also "The Catch" as well, knocking us out of one with Montana, Clark, and company back then. So, if it was me, I'd be proud of the fact that your team and mine were viable contenders back then, because neither have done much since.
If it wasn't for mine, do you think yours would have had the heart and stamina to keep trying? I thoroughly enjoyed each and every game we played with the 49'ers. The two teams made each other back then, in my opinion.
Now, I'm not trying to make you love, or even like, the Cowboys. But, it wouldn't have been the same if the 49'ers had to play the Packers, for instance, now would it? It HAD to be the Cowboys, or it wouldn't have been the same. Just look at it from that perspective.............:-)
62-63-4 equal 129 games. That is more than 8 seasons. Much longer than Romo has been the starting quarterback for the Cowboys.

Tony Romo's record as a starter (Including Postseason):
2006: 6-5
2007: 13-4
2008: 8-5
2009: 3-2
Total: 30-16
Tony Romo has never been involved in a Cowboys tie. In fact, the Dallas Cowboys have not been involved in a tied game since 1969. So where did you get your numbers from?

173 TD's and 220 interceptions. In 3 years?
Since Romo is in his 3rd year of starting, not 7 as mentioned above, and this year is not even yet finished, then if what Laison said is "true", this is what Romo's TD/Int ratio should be by the end of this season.
In these 3 years, upon completion of the present season, his TD's would be almost 58 a year, or almost 4 per game. The INTs would be just a bit over 73 a year or almost 5 a game.....
Incredible numbers.
I have no idea what the record for INTs is for one season w/o looking for it, but I know 73 of them would likely constitute a losing season for someone, regardless of 50+ TD's. I doubt the Lions had that many during their winless season.
These stats of Laison's are beyond absurd.........in fact, they're ridiculous.
not checking any facts quoted by blogger on this, but would seriously doubt staubach and white never fumbled in their careers. i did watch those two QBs play. aikman was a great one too. about the only thing i'd agree with is related to the coaching comments. jimmy was a good one and we haven't had his level of expertise since. that should change in a few mths. romo.... they've got to give him more time. how much?? not sure, but dallas won't be in any position next draft to get any of the good QBs coming from college. patience is something we cowboy fans need right now. hopefully, they get a win sunday and can build from there to make a run at the playoffs. it's going to be tough though.... it's also tough having JJ in control of everything - another problem - a big one.
