NFL  > General NFL  > N.F.L. Scolded Over Injuries to Its Players
October 29, 2009, 10:56 AM
The New York Times purported Quoted "Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee, with lawmakers, former players and even a former team executive accusing the league of neglect in its handling of active and retired players with brain injuries." Now I must say yes players do sustain a massive amount of head injuries in the NFL but when does head injuries starts? My point is that in Colleges, University and pick up football are the starting points of these injuries. Some learning institutions does not have the medical facilities, doctors or equipment compare to the NFL. Injuries to players are often not so quick to be reported and are often hidden, since its better to hide the injury than to not be selected for a scholarship etc. So the people on Capitol Hill that wants to lay all the blame on the NFL should take a closer look at those underfunded school programs. Have more vigilance when a child starts football, and teach safety to all in sports.
