NFL  > Cleveland Browns  > Quinn and a 3rd rounder to Carolina for Stewart
October 29, 2009, 11:40 PM
How about this Browns and Panthers fans? Cleveland trades Brady Quinn (or Derek Anderson) and a 3rd round pick (Cleveland has 11 in 2010) to the Carolina Panthers for running back Jonathan Stewart. Carolina desperately needs help at QB and they have two great young options at running back. Jamal Lewis is 31 years old and on his last legs for Cleveland. James Harrison is a great change of pace back and James Davis showed promise before his injury. I think it would be beneficial to both teams.

Sounds good to me. All RB come to Cleveland to retire. Maybe Stewart can change that.

Then again I think that Quinn or Anderson will not right the ship called the Panthers.

That'd be cool if the trading deadline didn't pass. Actually, Stewart would probably have a career ender in Cleveland. Not sure if it'd be worth it

i actually thought of this same trade the other day. I think it would be good for both sides.

Why would Carolina want Quinn?

November 2, 2009  05:13 PM ET

Either Quinn is sandbagging or rusty from warming bench, I dunno. I have always thought this kid had great potential. I personally would like to see him in Chicago!(fat chance) We love our Catholics there and Quinn needs a whole new start! He needs fans that know and respect him from his college days, cause thats all he has right now. good college memories!

quinn will be weiss's assistant at n. dame......[near-future].....watch !

November 2, 2009  07:06 PM ET

I guess theoretically it does make sense for both teams. Too bad nobody wants Quinn.

Carolina's choice -- Anderson or Quinn? I figured they would want Quinn considering that Anderson's QB rating is now digressing to the IQ level of a Steelers fan ... and after this trade the Browns can really start over and select either McCoy or Bradford.

As a steeler fan, i still laughed at that.

i still like geting a running back but i dunno i thikn i would stay away from drafting a qb until we get a good foundation in place. If you look at the guys coming out this year there could be 2 top 10 safeties and that DT Suh from nebraska is nasty. Those could be great impact players to build a defence around.

Then if we could get stewart or a guy like that who could give us a running game. I know the draft class for quarterbacks is strong this year but throwing one of those guys back there will just be ruining another kids confidence.
