NFL  > Dallas Cowboys  > NFL Pundits doom Cowboys resurgence?
November 1, 2009, 10:32 AM
As I watch pregame shows this morning, Talking heads on TV are oohing and ahhing on Romo and Miles connection and a "resurgent" defense.... Well, the Seahawks come off a bye which is good for them. On the other hand, they are decimated at the OL with injuries and players playing at different positions, the running game is non-existent and Hasselback is still nursing his ribs. IF Dallas is truly showing some signs of resurgence and competence then they must beat the Seahawks handily today. I do not say this to disrespect the Seahawks and their fans but state it based on the disparity in the records and injuries stated above. Dallas should win this at home going away. If they do not then this will be another indication of the lack of discipline and preparation displayed by cupcake and his staff.

Let's see how this plays out today....... oh wait I won't see it but will hunker in front of my "justintv.com" trying to make that crap work and also the NFL Redzone.

No worries this week +40yr. Dal 24 Sea 13

November 1, 2009  12:01 PM ET

LGD,
not so much worried but feel with the "perceived" mismatch in personnel and current health fortunes Cowboys should win walking away. Failure to do so will indicate that they are this week's flash in the pan, maybe similar to NYG in the first 4-5 weeks. Fortunes turn quickly in the NFL and sustained streaks like Denver, Colts etc this deep into the season are commendable. I would like a bit of a streak from DCowboys to build a buffer if you will.....we'll know in 3.5 hours....

November 1, 2009  02:35 PM ET

I got the Cowboys game here, last week, and they looked really good after the 1st quarter. If they keep playing like that, do you Cowboy fans worry about Wade Phillips being kept on as head coach, cause to me, he seems like the biggest problem next to Jerry, who isn`t going anywhere.

We now know.

38-17, which should have been 41-10, but I'll take it. Still some minor bugs to work out, but overall, I think the 'Boys are much improved from the start of the season. They just have to keep it up, and improve each week. I like what I'm seeing.

If Wade would coach like he should, and keep this team in contention, instead of letting them fall apart like they did last year with the Ravens, Steelers and Eagles, then Jones will undoubtedly keep him on.

But, if the 'Boys have any consecutive games like I just mentioned, and they play poorly, then Wade and company are likely gone. It also would depend on injuries to key players too.

yeah, but keeping him would be a mistake, unless Jerry can`t get a top coach. Wade has always took a good team down, and it won`t be much longer before Dallas needs to rebuild, restock players and such. They are looking good now, so maybe I`m just down on Wade too much.

You are probably right about that. But, Jones is not going to find a good quality coach who'd also be his puppet. If anyone does, it would be Shanahan, but I don't look for that either.

Jones has to be retarded not to see that jacking with the team hasn`t helped. He seems the smartest out of the 3 **** that own teams, if he would step back back and let a good coach take over, the Cowboys would be back on top or at least up there.

I agree, and that's what most Cowboys fans think. If he would hire a real GM, and just step back and let the team make him some money, then we'd be fine. Chances are, Jimmy Johnson would have won more than just 2 SB's......well, 3 if you count the one Switzer got..........and I believe we could have got at least one more, maybe 2.

But Jones' ego is as big as his new stadium. He thinks he's the smartest GM since sliced bread was invented. Thus, the 13 years and counting since the team last one a playoff game.

But, with that being said, I damn sure wouldn't trade him for Al Lerner, Wm Clay Ford, or "The Idiot" in Washington, who shall remain nameless and be known as "The Idiot"............lol

ya, so far Dallas is better off than washington, but one more face lift and Jerry`s brain will be gone, and then you guy`s have Al Davis, time to attack the stadium, kill all owners, coaches, and Roy Williams, then I have you guys winning the superbowl!

You may very well be right there. People are calling him Skeletor now, because of facelifts..........LOL

I`m a Chiefs fan, but I like a lot of other teams, like the Cowboys, I`m pissed off as a part time fan, you being a full time fan must be going crazy the way Jerry is running things and the team being that close to being on top, huh ?

November 1, 2009  07:40 PM ET

Now I want to see all you Dallas fans go and give Philly fans a big hug. Boy oh boy does Eli suck or what. Donavan probably prays and says thank you football god for giving the Eagles DeShaun Jackson.

I used to, but not anymore....

I try and keep things in perspective. I've watched this team for well over 40 years, and I've about seen it all. I will continue to root for them and hope they win, but if they don't, it's no food off of my plate. The sun will come out the next morning, unless it rains, and I just wait til the next game and go on from there.

I am a fan, yes, but I'm not a fanatic. I watch all other teams play when I can as well. I love the game so I don't limit myself to just watching one team, and no one else. I just watched the Packers and Vikings play, and will watch whoever else is playing later. Another reason for me keeping up with other teams is that I can better relate to their fans, such as you. I may know as much as you do about the Chiefs....lol.... Not to mention that had I not watched the Bears when Gale Sayers scored 6 TD's in the one game on a muddy field, I would have missed some great football.

That's the way I look at it anyway.

Why? We need not hug them. The Philly fans didn't play the game..........lol

In the earlier game against the Giants, if the Cowboys would have played like they've been playing the last 3 games, we would have beaten them as well, and still almost did even at that. The final score was 33-31.......2 points, and if the 'Boys would have stopped that last drive, we would have won. Philly just knocked them out of first place, and they are now tied with the 'Boys for first.

Philly got whitewashed by Oakland last week, remember? So, they are human too.

thats a lot of how I do, it makes my team getting better a lot more fun after they have sucked for a while. I got really one minded on a team in the 70`s, I was a Cowboys fan and thats all I took time to watch cause of the other crap in my life, and I didn`t even know who Walter Payton was till he was almost done. I have never been that one minded on a team since, I don`t want to miss out on nothing, I watch all teams that are doing good, not as a bandwagoner, just as a fan of football.

November 1, 2009  08:05 PM ET

WTF?!? 2nd week in a row they've let up before the end of the game, just because victory was pretty much assured. Both times thet gave up cheap TDs. Their play is looking damn good, but Wade needs to keep them intense for the full ****ing 60 minutes or there's gonna be a problem some week, sure as hell.

There ya go....:-)

I remember when John Brodie played for the 49'ers.......Len Dawson for the Chiefs.........and Dandy Don for the Cowboys......was some damn good games and players throughout the ages.

If the game is well in hand, then the injury risk factor rises, don't you think? I would have pulled Romo out the last couple of possessions tho. That fumble may not have happened.

We know they will have to play a full 60 minutes next week for sure. We'll see.
