I don't get this. I'm seeing the same thing with Favre and Romo this week. Favre and Romo have been great for the first half of the season for many years now. It is the end of the season and playoffs (Romo for his entire career and Favre for the past 6 or 7 years) that they start blowing games. All the "I told you so's" are way too early. At least hold off until they win a playoff game. All this crap talking in October and the first day of November is dumb.

Romo's career is all of 2.5 years as a starter. Look around and see how many first round draft picked QB's are in the playoffs every year. What about Carson Palmer? Matt Lienart? Alex Smith?

They were drafted, and yet people expect an undrafted Romo to be better than these other guys? He can be, yes, but think about it. What are you expecting of Romo, but not of these other guys?

Let's see what happens this year first.

For Romo, the expections are coming from playin in Dallas. But for favre, he has playyed alooooot better than i thought that he ever would this year.

You're right. Romo hasn't had many years to prove himself yet, but as Uniform1Alpha pointed out, the fact that he hasn't had playoff success yet has been magnified 10 times because he's on the Cowboys. Still though, I'm just saying people can't start saying "I told you so" yet about Romo or Favre because nobody ever said they didn't play well early in the season. All the criticism is of their late season/playoff performance. Until they prove everyone wrong in January or meaningful games in December, it's too early to start saying "I told you so".

Is Favre's performance thus far any better than he played last year? Have you all forgotten that around week 11 the experts were saying that the Jets were the best team in football after taking out the undefeated Titans? Teams are gearing their defenses to stop one player on the Viking offense: Adrian Peterson. The reason being is that you want Favre to have to expend himself early in the season. The rest of the NFL are guessing that this is a war of attrition and that Favre won't have it in him to last.

You're right about Romo and Dallas.

Favre, that old fart, is still pretty good tho, considering.

All we can do is hope he can get it together this year in December. But, he still is better than anyone we've had since Aikman and is fun to watch when he's hot. Romo will always have critics for the very fact that the Cowboys are who they are, and one either loves them, or hates them.

Franchise QB's are hard to find, too. Ask Chicago......lol

Honestly ... I do believe the good people of Green Bay DESERVE THE BULK OF THE BLAME.

They followed Ted "the pied piper " Thompson to this sorry conclusion.

In 2007 when I first heard that Favre was being given his walking papers from GB

a) I was shocked that the majority of Packer Fans seemed to only mildly support him

b) I figured short-sighted Packer Backers were still in shock from Favre's NFC Champ game-ending INT ~ blamed him solely for the loss ...and thus the luke warm response to his departure .

SOBERING STATISTICS FOR TED THOMPSON & FRIENDS TO CHEW ON :

FAVRE's RECORD POST-PACKERS = 16 - 8
RODGERS RECORD WITH PACKERS = 10 - 13

Note : Packers were 13-3 in previous season before Rodgers took the helm
while Favre's inherited teams were a combined 14 -18

Favre's 3 year journeyman record PACK / JETS / VIKES = 29 - 11
( Only Peyton Manning has more victories over the last 40 games )

OK ~Hindsight is 20 /20 . . . and there's no going back ...

I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW IF THERE'S ANY PACKER FANS OUT THERE WHO STILL BELIEVE TED THOMPSON MADE THE RIGHT MOVE ?
