I have noticed in other message board topics that we all tend to bounce around to a lot of different subjects.

So why not start a thread that is just for that? General discussions, opinions, questions and thoughts about college football.

Good Morning Knights and Ladies of the Table

Greetings, MG, BS&B, and all Table friends!

While I feel bad for the Mexico folks dealing with the hurricane, I am personally thankful it didn't come further north. My portable generator is in the shop, and that thing is a required piece of equipment post-hurricane.

This is a bit early....normally the storms don't really start coming in until August. However, I'd get that generator fixed and fill up all the gas cans.

Yep...I have the generator filled plus 6 5-gal gas cans filled and 3 propane tanks...also need to get your water and food for 3 days....fun times

To fill up the gas can, simply leave an open barrel. The 'Cane will drop enough oil in to run the generator for a year.

That's a good one, PSU. One of my vehicles had a bad oil leak in Iraq, and the Platoon Leader said, "Over here, we call that recycling."

I gotta figure out how to get rid of some of the gas that's probably gone bad in one of my three 6-gallon cans. How do you ditch bad gas?

And I'm considering getting a propane-conversion kit to get it to run on propane, it doesn't go bad and I can always use it in the gas grill. Plus it's safer to store a few propane bottles than gas cans in my garage IMO.

I use that gas life extender stuff...then start using that gas for the car and truck during the winter....good idea about converting the generator to propane. Wonder how long it would run on one propane bottle????

The repair guy says several days, if you run it in shifts of several hours duration. That's one of the bottles that you use in a grill, not one of those little ones you take camping.

I could see having 3-4 bottles being a good stash, and I could even raid the 2 bottles on my camper, or hit up any neighbors with bottles sitting idle on their grills if things got seriously bad.

I just don't like the idea of storing alot of gasoline in my garage, and not just because it goes bad (since I didn't use Sta-bil soon enough in it). I was a volunteer firefighter in my younger days, and saw some bad things come from lots of gas cans in garages.

And I tried using it all that gas up in my mower and gas weedeater, but hell, I was waaaay off thinking I could use it all up in those 2 little machines. D'oh!!

When not enough players are getting in trouble with the law, administrators must pick up the slack. The headline is "UGA AD Arrested for DUI."

With Texas at least it's former players. Cedric Benson and Chris Simms both arrested this past week. Simple assault (bar room brawl) and DUI, respectively.

Just over to the right ---->>>>>
it says Simms was busted for DUI Marijuana, hmmmm, reminds of another QB bust in the pro's, Todd Marijuanavich from USC.

So, uh, how close to the gulf can you get with a lighted cigarette in your mouth?

2 miles would be my best guess. When the wind is out of the south, which is most of the time, you can smell it. Yippee.

That hurts dude. I lived in Pensacola, FL and still have family there. They are giving me the same story for that area. It's worse than a hurricane.

I'm really sorry bp.

I see it as the worst thing that has happened in my lifetime.

They are talking about "possible containment" of the gusher by the end of August.

How can you start clean-up until you stop the gusher, calling a leak is way too weak?

Exactly what is clean up? Once all the wildlife is dead which it will be soon what's left?

Not to mention the way of life for how people is ruined for generations, if not forever.

I can't see anything but worst case scenarios, Cuba and Texas included.

BP you BASTARDS. Karma will get you.
