YANKEES 2009 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!!

I find it interesting in any sport where there is a level playing field, teams like the RANGERS, KNICKS, JETS, NETS, ISLES, and even the GINTS (although they don't totally - they play in NJ) - all SUCK. If there was a salary cap in baseball the YANKS would SUCK even moreso. No wonder - in a city where the Mayor has to spend $100 million to win 53% of the votes, everyone sucks. Too bad he couldn't give some of his coin to the Knicks - but they'd still SUCK.
Let me remind all you dick YANKers the STEELERS and the PENGUINS are based in the TRUE CITY OF CHAMPIONS - PITTSBURGH!

I see you didn't list the Pirates. Is it cause although there is no salary cap in baseball your team seams to spend the least amount in baseball? The Pirates don't even try to compete so I don't feel sorry for you. And although I'm not a Giant fan, they did just win the Super Bowl only 2 years ago so get off their back.
Yeah, well, the Bucs have got problems, but give the Pirates $200 million they'd win a pennant too. Assuming their ownership wouldn't spend it to buy another ski resort...
The best team money could buy - everybody's saying it:

You just wait until Selig institutes a salary cap.
Oh and by the way - AROD is a juicer!
Selig will never institute a salary cap as long as the Union has any say in it.... PittPaul is right- the Yankees buy their championships--you can't deny that.
That being said, if Cleveland shelled out money like that for a championship I would be pretty happy.
Not hating on the Yankees fans--- but, until the league levels the playing field with a salary cap Major League Baseball will never be a fair game.
The Yankees are cheaters. I hope they enjoy the purchased trophy. The Yankee fans know this, but they don't care. They will never admit it. They try every excuse to explain why they "earned" the trophy but the truth is they just flat out spent more money than anyone else to obtain it. Thats why they are not Champions but Cheaters

....the Pirates have realized they are eternally screwed, and they are willing to make a profit by cashing checks from the Steinbrenners and McCourts of the world.................and my Dodgers could be going the way of the Padres if this Mccourt thing gets too ugly...............
One thing you do not know is yanks pay almost $100mils. per year.
Your pirats ,mallins and so on do not spend even that money for the teams and just put them in thire pockets.
Those money are actually coming out from hard working yanks fan's pocket.
The money is not Steinbraner's money but yankee fan's money.
Do you think is this fair for yankees fan?

no one cares.
The Yankees put a great product on the field, fans show up, build a winning brand, sell more tickets, market a great product in a town with another team... the Mets, build a great network for their fan base... the YES network, play within the financial rules established by MLB and they should apologize for that?
Boston's ranking in population is 22 when compared to all US cities... but they decided a few years ago that in order to compete with the NYY they would have to adopt a business model patterned after the Yanks.... and it's worked for them.
Baseball is, and always will be, a regional game with economic challenges that are not common to Football or Basketball.
More MLB franchises should begin to model their approach after the Yank's. Don't blame them when small market fans don't show up at the park.
