NFL  > San Francisco 49ers  > Will the 49ers and Raiders share a stadim?
November 5, 2009, 05:53 PM
Local radio stations have been spreading the rumor that there might be the possibility that the 2 teams in order to save money would build and share a stadium. The most logical site because of transportation issues would be the existing site of Oakland Raiders. How difficult would it be for the NFL to schedule these teams so there is no overlap? For now Al Davis has said it will never happen as long as he is alive.

The 49ers owner scratched that idea this past summer.. moving on to Santa Clara, away from the left handed queer city of SF and dump of the west on the other side of the bay.

Go Niners!

Why are they talking about it today? Even the Santa Clara stadium isn't secured because San Francisco says they can better the offer.

November 5, 2009  07:04 PM ET

They very well could. But only if the two teams move to Santa Clara. I think it would be a good thing. Unless, they can somehow get a new stadium built in San Francisco.

Did you just call SF a dump? Its arguably the nicest city in the country. And I don't think I'm being biased.

I'm routing for the Santa Clara Stadium, the 49ers already have their training facilities there, hopefully it would renew interest in extending BART to Santa Clara,( it should have covered the whole Bay Area by now), and some type of ferry system across the bay, like the Giants have would make it even better. The Oakland site has the public transportation already, and sits at the crossroads of the major highways, plenty of parking. Gavin Newsome says the City of San Francisco still wants to submit a bid but I don't see that happening.

I'm not sure, but this subject was brought up at the begining of the summer. I saw it on Bleacher Report, and I read an article about the NFL and the economy and both made mention that the owner of SF was having no part in backing out of the Santa Clara stadium, which the only way they would share a stadium would be if the owners could settle on a joint contract (won't happen). I believe in "where there is smoke, there is fire" and the L.A. rumor is gaining momentum. so shortly' the bay area will be NFL less.

So what? They're gay? What's the big deal? People in San Fran tend to be some of the nicest in the country. Just cause they're kinda earthy and sometimes homosexual doesn't make them garbage.

That might be a moot point soon.

I don't see any type of scheduling problem,

"if they can share in New York they can share anywhere."

November 6, 2009  07:27 PM ET

Sorry about that, time to go home soon, I'm burnt out.

Yeah, I kind of grouped all of the people of a city together and judged them because of my opinion of the local government. But they do vote.

I will take my comment back and apologize to anyone who took offense to my ignorance.
