Was anyone else impressed my Marcus' BJJ on TUF this week? I thought he did a great job pulling off that armbar as quick as he did.

while i do agree Jason, I look at it more as his opponent was a loser...know what I mean?

Yeah, that's a good point mlanzo, but it's not like Marcus has a ton of experience. It more surprised me than anything. I would have never thought Marcus has some smooth BJJ.

i am blaming the otehr guy more than givin jones props because jones was not too quick and he is long. he will NOT be able to gdo that to real deal ufc guys

Oh I have no doubt that he isn't catching Cain or Carwin with that armbar, but even Rashard was surprised at how quickly he pulled it off.

November 6, 2009  09:22 AM ET

I also thought it was smooth and unexpected.
If anything, the only guy I think looked good so far was him.
I knew he would be the one and only Victory for Rampage.

I hate the fact that every week they make a way to keep the Kimbo suspence going. It is retarded at best. Because if anything, I don't know why Kimbo and not the other 7 guys would be the ones replacing anyone injured. If anything, if the injury is on rashad's team, it should be this guy who lost (from Rashad's team) that should replace him.

I also didn't like that rampage made t1t1es fight Marcus. He is taking it personal because he is a **** and can't stop a jioke even after it became serious. I swear I would have knocked rampage out by now.

that made me laugh...

i thought for as big and inexperienced as he is that his bjj looked really good. thinking about it, though, the fact that he is a professional athlete does lend him some credibility. he already has the advantage of having trained his whole life for explosive strength that is necessary on the football field and that definitely transfers to mma. props to big baby.

Marcus looked pretty slick on the ground. For such a large guy, he showed some pretty impressive flexibility. I liked that he was constantly going for the finish, whether it was the Americana, rear naked, or the eventual armbar.
I hope Jones does well. He seems like a genuinely likable guy.

Oh yeah....when Marcus got his arm, did anyone else have that split second flashback to about 15 minutes earlier when he said he was going to rip his arm off his body? For that one second, I thought "oh crap, here it comes!"

November 6, 2009  10:43 AM ET

Marcus Jones vs Brenden Schaub (spelling?) for the title.

Sometimes I think Rampage goes a little overboard with his comments and such. Maybe some of it is for attention/ratings but it just gets annoying after a while. I wish that he would have followed through and fought Evans to see who can shut who up.

I was impressed at the speed with which he came after subs as soon as it hit the ground. I don't think that guy had a clue how dangerous he was going to be on the ground...I didn't have a clue!

Carwin maybe, Cain has yet to face a guy with a real ground game so who knows. Incase you can't tell I hate Cain! He is all hype.

The guy had both arms trapped too so he had to scream tap tap tap!

Very well could be but Justin Wren looked semi-impressive so we will see.

November 6, 2009  12:49 PM ET

Very impressed with him. To me, he's the fav to win the show.

November 6, 2009  01:22 PM ET

Yeah, I was also impressed. Specially since they showed him only standing, and he displayed impressive power.
Add that with the reach advantage, and I thought he would just stand and bang.
But he showed he is not too shabby on the ground neither, and that was an eye opener.
